Eric and Sookie look AMAZING in the new photo! And did you notice in the bottom right-hand corner? This was taken back in June and we’re only seeing these now for the first time! WTF? Why haven’t they released this goody to us before now?

  1. It’s a lovely photo, but that’s the same problem I have with it. We have been wanting to get at least one picture of the two of them together all season, and they wait until now to release it. I think AB is even in charge of EW, it’s like he’s brainwashed everyone.

  2. Yeah..too little..too late..

  3. I don’t like Eric’s pose. It looks like he fell there or something. I wish I could see other pictures from that shoot!

  4. Its’ an OK kinda pic. but, I guess Heather is right….too little….too late…..
I’m still kinda dazed by all the crap that AB tried to force down our throats in season 4, so I guess that pic really doesn’t mean much now, at least to me.
I’m trying to be (slightly) hopeful that maybe by the end of season 5 Sookie will see the light and know that Eric is her man.

I will love Book Eric and Sookie 4eva and I love Alex even more, but this last season was just soooo messed up.

  5. yeah, its obvious to me that they did use that Eric Sookie picture just to get the Eric fans or book readers back who are pissed because of the finale and what Alan Ball has done with that horrible and ridicolous couch scene… its too late already….

  6. Don’t let AB get away with it…he want us defeated…I won’t give him the satisfation. I will fight till the end to have Eric and Sookie together!!! And Alexander needs our support…that is why I’m going to see Straw Dogs…it not his fault the AB and Co don’t know how to write…he has done a wonderful job with Eric…I can’t imaging anyone else as Eric.

  7. It’s a beautiful picture, and it is weird that it wasn’t released until now. But I don’t buy into AB conspiracy theories. That’s all promotion for the show at the end of the day. It was probably planned for a later issue from the beginning. EW did their three suitor covers over the summer.

They are going to play the triangle until the end, that’s the way it is. Not saying that Bill will always be a huge contender, but he will be there and that’s something we have to deal with, if you are watching the show that is. When books are adapted to T.V. they are usually changed a lot to amp up drama, especially if there’s a love triangle involved. I doubt Bill will be taken completely out of the picture until the end. But I still don’t think Bill and Sookie will end up together. *shrug*

    • Thing is, this horrible, forced love triangle does NOT help the story. It doesn’t amp up the drama, it just brings it down. None of it feels organic or natural anymore, and it has nothing to do with the show following the books or not. It’s just bad writing, pure and simple.
The main problem, in fact, is not Billacting as a viable suitor, but Bill being in every way the true center of the show. Everything is built around him, instead of Sookie. Her character development has been butchered to prop his, and Eric’s arc also suffers as a result. Both Eric and Pam have been diminished and not used to their full potential because they were in danger of eclipsing Bill. This year it’s been more obvious than ever.
Sadly all this effort to keep TB centered on Bill has resulted in an increasingly contrived, meandering, anticlimatic show.
At this point I don’t even care who Sookie ends up with on TB, because I just don’t believe in this story anymore. The way it’s told doesn’t make any emotional sense to me, and so the investment is completely gone.
