Eric’s gifts to Sookie – complete with big, red bows!

As a Bookie, I appreciated the nods to the books, when True Blood showed these in Season 4! Unfortunately, Sookie didn’t appreciate them as much as I did, but I loved the fact TB remembered how good Eric has always been to Sookie in the books!

Now, if only they had shown the shower scene exactly the same?

  1. When talk first began about Season 4 I kept saying the following:
All I want to see is “Book 4,Chapter 6,Pages 116-126 the Shower
Scene/Sex Scene” I want it intact, as is NO Subsutitions.
All additions welcome” This is what I was hoping for???
What we got was a small shower scene that ended up in the
Woods, and Eric/Sookie making love all over her house.

  2. I thought that was so sweet of Eric – although not entirely selfless, since he probably intended to use this microwave to heat up his TB bottles when he stayed with his future lover. It almost appeared that he wanted to move in with her *lol*
Loved that card – wow, that’s a nice handwriting for a man/vampire! I imagine that he wrote this with ink and a quill. Eric does calligraphy! Maybe he used to write naughty love letters in earlier centuries …

  3. P.S. I wonder if Eric actually meant Beel (and not the microwave) when he wrote “Out with the old, in with the new – you like?” LOL! I like for sure! ;-)

  4. The books did a much better job explaining what was happening here. In the books, Bill also bought her gifts but he bought her the wrong types of gifts and he didn’t listen when Sookie told him that she didn’t want them and that they made her uncomfortable. Bill’s gifts tended to be those you bought a mistress. Not only that, Bill tended to ingore/disregard the fact that Sookie needed the money that was owed her so she could make repairs. Eric LISTENED and those were the kind of gifts he bought. He also noticed when Sookie needed other things (a coat , a phone) etc.

TB Sookie doesn’t seem to understand that had Eric not stepped in, she’d have lost her house and everything in it. Everyone else thought she was dead. The IRS, the state nor the bank were just going to give her a pass on taxes and/or a mortgage payment because she was in fairy.

  5. Oh yes, when TB showed those “gift scenes” I was sooooo excited to see that they were going to follow the books more closely in Season 4 and then the BIG disapointment came with i.e the shower scene and everything after that was all downhill IMHO. I still wish that AB and the writers kept closer to the books for the season………..I am trying to be hopeful for the end of season 5 but we will see what we see……

    • Well Gina, let’s hope that AB and the writers wake up and do the right thing by the end of season 5….I am staying positive for now…..

  6. Ya just got our hopes up just to be disappointed again. I will hope for nothing this season.
