Do you remember our Eric & Sookie lovin’ friend, screenwriter, author, blogger and CEO of 3L Publishing? We posted a blog post about her love for Eric Northman in the past. She has now voiced her concerns about the recent spoiler, (which revealed something about Eric and Bill’s storyline in True Blood season 5) in a new blog post.
We know how much you enjoyed reading her previous post, and figured you’d love to read what she’s posted now! (She pretty much echos how all of us feel.)

True Blood Season Five spoilers are starting to drop. And so it seems that my favorite Viking Eric Northman will share a hinted at “bromance” time with our “southern comfort” vampire Bill (see article). Ugh! Who wants to see that? Not me. Bring on the great “shipping” of Eric and Sookie and forget “bromancing the bill”. All right Truebies, you all raise your hands if this is what you want to see in Season Five? As my friend Sonya cites as her favorite Michelle phrase, “Hell to the no!” So not interested in this “dynamic duo”. I fear we’ll be put on hold minimally another 12 episodes before we see our Viking God reunited with his fairy princess. Doesn’t the True Blood writing team know that we all can’t get enough of Sookie and Eric? Can’t we at least get a single season of how they would be as a real couple with our vampire’s memory actually functioning? I mean come on, we had to spend two agonizing season watching Sookie and Bill fail miserably as a couple. Give us at least one “regular” Eric and Sookie season before you send them shipping to Narnia World (that’s an inside joke and throwback to their Scandinavian-forest bed romp). Are we to assume, we get to stay on the downward slope the writing started to take at the very end of Season Four? Come on writers: hear your fans roar! We don’t need MORE Eric-Bill time! Give us Eric and Sookie, and I promise your ratings will soar!!!

We only hope some how and in some way, our thoughts and feelings will get to Alan Ball and Co. eventually. Did you know that they’re going to be pushing Sookie towards Alcide next season too? *insert sarcasm* Fun stuff. I’m already falling asleep… Zzzzzzzzzzzz. But you’re always free to share your thoughts among fellow Eric and Sookie lovers!

Holy Khrist! *holding back the puke* What? Alan seriously thought we would be pacified with a bromance – Eric/Bill? Hell, he’s been on the West Coast too long… besides being gay. I have nothing against gays in the least! But Eric is NOT gay! I’m sorry, Alan! LOL Bill might be. I just suggest Alan just fuck Bill (sorry on the crude language… *snarky grin* this topic is really bring out the worst in me!)and leave Eric to the rest of us. Alcide … really? REALLY??? Noooooooooooooooo! It cannot be lost on Alan Ball how Sookie and Eric share incredible chemistry. How does one even overlook that fact? I read somewhere that even Stephen Moyer was asking Alexander for tips. Even Stephen is not oblivious to the hotness going on between those two characters on screen. Alcide isn’t going to do it for us. Yes, yes, I know it’s a drama! Yes, I know it’s how they keep us hooked! But I just am not hooked on Alcide. Hmm … scale … werewolf on one end … hot Viking God on the other. Um, no competition! Your fellow “shipper”! Michelle
Exactly, Michelle. Your reaction pretty much sums up ours. Most of us feel Alan Ball is only doing it to keep the “Teams” thing alive, even it it makes Sookie look like a floozy.
This is Alan’s way of trying to make Bill more popular, he thinks being around Eric all the time will do that. He’s sadly mistaken.
its so ridicolous the whole bromance, and if they continue to show Eric submissive towards bill, which they did in sesaon 4 at times I am so done… I just don’t get it, the writer always have to make Bill bigger than he is, a 1000 year old viking works with a 175 year old, of course he needs that guys help, because he is so much wiser than him *eyeroll*
Doubtful, Eric won’t always take Bill’s crap and he’s technically not even high up anymore. Eric doesn’t have to listen to him, I see a lot of them being at each other’s throats. No chance of them ever being BFF’s.

I love that and I completely agree with every word she said. Our only hope can be that it only lasts a few episodes and then it’s back to the romance, but I won’t hold my breath.
Fuck, no. Just no. No….no. No to Bill and Sookie. No to Alcide and Sookie. No to anyone with Sookie who isn’t Eric. No to a Bill and Eric bromance.

*gags at the thought of Bill and Eric being all chubby with each other* this is just not right, for 4 seasons they can’t stand each other’s guts and would love to have the other one staked (not to mention the sequence of the 11 books) and now Ball is hoping Eric’s popularity will rub off on Bill by putting them on screen together for most of the time? Uhm, not gonna happen people, Beehl looks like a pussy next to Eric, it’s just pathetic! I hope Eric gets his groove back and lets Beehl play King in his ”mansion” on his own.
About Alcide and Sookie… *gags even more* I think they’ll try to go there, yeah. Alcide will end up kissing her / making out with her, but I think it wont go further. It’s just not right, she leaves ERIC (and Beehl) cause she wants to be on her own and doesn’t wanna chose, to then hook up with the stinking dog? (as our Viking lovingly called him, awww) No no.
I totally agree with all the above comments and just wanted to add this thought to the mix. I am totally bored with AB’s unimaginative plot lines. He broke up the main love interest in 6FU too. I think it was for at least one season with them both going their separate ways. I thought I would die then too, but I like to remember that all the fansites back then also were “up in arms” and wanted them back together and he did finally get them back together in the end. (Although then the guy, Nate died but he did get them back together for awhile).
AB likes to write angst and get us all riled up, so I am truly hoping beyond hope that he does it again in TB and gets our Sookie and Eric back together where they both belong by the end of Season 5. I do believe that Season 6 will be the end of TB, so he better do something to rectify his crappy storyline before we all bail on his ass.
After going thru both 6FU and TB, I’ve learned my lesson and after TB, I will never watch another AB produced and written series ever again!!!
I never saw Six Feet Under, and now I’m glad for that. The problem is in his delusional world, he thinks Bill and Sookie are the main couple that everyone is hoping would get back together. I hope he gets a clue soon, or like you said, we’ll all be going elsewhere.
Is there any possibility that this bromance crap is just that crap. Perhaps AB has spoiled this plot line to throw all of us off of what will really happen. I can’t envision the Viking Vampire God not knowing someone who could get him out of this jam or better yet, throwing Bill under the bus and saying that Bill Compton killed Nan Flanagan. Which he did.
I just hope that Alan Ball does have Eric saving Sookie at the end of Season Five. I envision the pack master contest and Alcide being the douche. In comes Eric swoops in a saves Sookie from the werewolf crap.
Off they fly to his house in Shreveport and we end with the two of them in bed. Of course, Eric in royal blue silk boxers. *weak in the knees*
wish the bromance stuff won’t happen, but it will, in interviews some people working on the show said that they would work together, I just don’t want to see Eric bowing down to Bill ever again, it is just damn ridicolous. I rather want to see Eric mocking on Bill, it makes just no sense at all that ERic was so respectful towards bill all of a sudden,. the guy tried to kill him several times and even Pam… the writers just want to make Bill equal to ERic, its sickening… in season 4 it seemed that Bill got even stronger, they even seem to give him more strength and power, which only shows how inconsistent the show is
Latest speculation is that the bromance is and will be happening but that Eric is getting Bill as far away from Sookie as possible. Which ain’t a bad idea, since every time he is near by sookie ends up needing Bill’s bad blood. Ugh. Eric is pulling Bill closer to pull him down even further into the rabbit hole.
Eric was never really respectful to Bill, only when he was without memories because he didn’t know any better. When he bowed to Bill, it was in a mocking way, Bill was just too big of a moron to realize that. The bromance won’t last, these two will never stop wanting the other dead.
he called bill my liege and my king, it was horrible… Ball likes to degrade erics character… its just so bad that the writers now seem to put all the rather unpopular characters like Tara and bill together with the most popular ones Pam and Eric…
But if you look at the expression on Eric’s face when he says it, there is no way he believes Bill has any power. They can try to degrade his character all they want, it won’t work. Bill is the one who ends up looking worse, no matter what AB does.
well, he said it after the amnesia, thats the problem, and he looked more respectful then, Eric really shouldn’t make friends with him, it seems like all bill has done in sesaon 3 is forgotten, the rat reveal, and that he tried to bury eric and pam, so a friendship would actually make no sense, but AB probably doesn’t care at all…
OK, here is my theory. Let’s see if AB goes this direction. the earlier poster said about Six Feet Under, they did destroy the Nate/Brenda romance. And while I loved the cleverness to end Six Feet Under, I despised that they killed Nate and never truly resolved the Nate-Brenda love affair. I will hand it to AB though — pretty darned clever killing off the entire cast! Now here is what I think is going to go down with TB based on past experience with AB and the hidden hints I’ve seen fan dig up.
Theory #1: Bill will NOT end with Sookie. First, an interesting Tumblr post showed the incredible juxtaposition of the Sookie’s Uncle Bartlett as a predator against Bill in the same seat as a predator. I do not for one minute suspect that the storytellers would position Bill in that respect and put our darling Sookie with him in the end.
Theory #2: Eric IS a heroic character and he is actually far LESS diabolical than Bill. Bill has all kinds of nasty hidden agendas we don’t yet know about. Eric, the one who was set up to be a villain in Season 1, is not at all a villain. He’s a terrible liar. Anyone noticed how terrible he lies. Sookie cites that goodness in him, and every time he does something we don’t like to Sookie, it’s because he’s trying to save her. He is Sookie’s foil too. Has anyone noticed that. AB set Eric completely up as her character foil. If you don’t understand character foils, Google a definition. Eric and Sookie are absolutely going to end up together. Notice that pink shirt she wears with the fairy and the angel … that is meant to be Eric/Sookie (Season 2 Eric bows before Godric with the angel in the background). And we all know Sookie is a fairy. Go back to Season 4 and notice when she wears the pink shirt … it’s really sweet. The shirt is an homage to Eric and Sookie.
Theory #3: Eric and Sookie are soulmates. She will end up either married to him as in the books or she will be his lover. We might have to be tormented with some Alcide action in between and various other distractions, but my bet is Season 6 is all about ending with their happily ever after whatever that might look like in Vampire land. The angel NOT the dog and NOT the predator is Sookie’s man! And that friends is my prediction. Let’s see how close I’ve come.

Eric and Bill in bromance is a risk, bill will end up more pathetic , Alan ball is stupid in aloud it to happen if his plane is to increase bill’s popularity. Now I rather watch discovery channel then Sookie and Alcide together, the only way Ball can make the dog look interesting will be if Eric slammed him against the wall and snap his neck of !
