Vampire Hunter Coming To Bon Temps In Season 5

In E! Online’s latest Spoiler Chat, Kristin Dos Santos revealed some more info on one of the casting calls we posted recently!

WARNING: If you don’t want to know – don’t read below!

You remember our latest casting call for episode #506? If not, you can read it here!

This is what they said at E! Online about one of these roles…

Gail in Canton, Ohio: Love all the True Blood spoilers you’ve been giving us! Any more?
Vampires will have something else to fear besides werewolves, the sun and silver in the upcoming season of True Blood. This new dude is way, way worse. He’s…a redneck. And an anti-vampire one at that. This hunter will be a recurring character on T.B.‘s new season, so he’ll likely be raising all kinds of hell, like killing vamps and taking others prisoner. Want to hear the best part? His name is…wait for it…Joe Bob. You’re welcome.

Joe Bob was described as this in the latest casting call.

[JOE BOB] CAUCASIAN, EARLY 30s, White trash. An anti-vampire terrorist wearing an Obama mask to hide his identity, he shoots one vampire with a hunting rifle and takes his victim prisoner. Recurring.

In other words…this guy is a hunter who hunts vampires.

Just one more thing to take away from our Eric and Sookie time. This is really getting annoying. The more characters they add to the show, the less screen time our favorite characters will have. This vampire hunter sounds really exciting. *insert sarcasm*

  1. I’m getting really depressed about what is coming….every spoiler is worse than the one before.

  2. “very interesting” indeed.

  3. now i`m sleepy i don`t get it Joe Bob okay interesting huh ! i don`t know about this

  4. Sounds to me like AB has lost complete control and is running off in every direction. Even if there was a new episode of TB every Sun. Night all year long it would be impossible to keep up with all the characters let alone any kind of character development.

  5. I lose more interest with every piece of new information we receive. This is a show with 12 episodes per year, yet we are being overwhelmed with new characters, most of which I do not recognise from the books on which TB is allegedly based, and few of which seem to have any connection with the characters in whom I am interested.

  6. Wow, another new character! Next thing you know, AB will be writing Van Helsing into the scripts……………I agree with the ladies above, not enough eppys in a season to show all this crap. AB is totally over his head and doesn’t give a sh*t either.

It truly is ashame what they have done to this once great series.

  7. He doesn’t care. He wants out and he’s going to make sure everyone else doesn’t have a job too. The more I hear the more I want to puke! Yawn is right. Just put me to sleep . Please!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. for me the big problem is not even only because of the eric sookie stuff the writers don’t do justice, its just so bad that they will put bill with eric in sesaon 5 and every eric scene will be tainted by bills presence, I never had that big of the problem with book bill but the constant propping up of bill and make him look like the central vampire on the show just makes me sick, alan ball must have read the bill compton chronicles and not the sookie stackhouse novels…
If there is going to be more of eric showing respect to bill or bill being smarter or stronger than others, then I am going to vomit, they clearly prop him up all the time but its not just this, it just makes no sense… a 100 something year old vampire shouldn’t be more capable or stronger than a 1000 year old…whats next, bill will be able to defeat russel?? *vomit*

  9. Please, a redneck named Joe Bob? How could anyone possibly take that character seriously? Bored now.

  10. This reaks of Alan Ball’s input/idea.
It’s going to stink worse than a dog that got skunked.

  11. Hi, i am new here, maybe someone said this already. Do You think Alan makes Bill still the central character because Anna and Stepen are together in real life? Because i love the books and everybody knows that Eric is the main hero after 3th book. I always try to watch true blood as another series but ahhhhhh why are all characters so different of the books and st so annoying?. I watched TB two weeks ago my first time and i was always skipping so many parts, where there was no Eric and Sookie. The books goes in view of Sookie but True Blood is some new series above season 2, …. It would be so nice if the books were realy made in series, but not only pick some part of it as Alan did/does.
And a s somebody already said: what is it with this name : Joe Bob????

    • Oh, yeah, you will find many rants in here about that. Alan Ball tends to get fiction confused with reality. Since Anna and Stephen are soul mates in real life, he just automatically thinks they are on the show, too. The man has a few screws loose, but with all the Hollywood relationships dropping like flies lately, you never know what might happen. It’s ridiculous for him to base the show on that. You have to keep the show and books separate or you’re likely to go crazy, they’ll never be the same.

  12. […] your way from E! Online! To those who want to remain spoiler-free – please don’t click here! Ah, shit…you looked! Yep, exciting news, huh? […]
