It’s a sign of deep affection. It’s compulsory for an Aussie to make a sheep joke at the expense of Kiwis at every available opportunity. If we don’t do it they think we don’t love them any more.
So, it’s kind of like how Swedes and Norwegians treat each other? My ancestors came from Norway, and we like to say that Swedes belong in a zoo. LOL
