After reading this, the first thought that comes to mind is… “WTF? Is True Blood already out of original ideas now, they have to resort to stealing from The Vampire Diaries?” Why would they come up with a doppelganger on True Blood? It’s not apart of the mythology of the books at all. It looks like True Blood is becoming copycats. It has been very successful on The Vampire Diaries, but will it be on True Blood?
The second thing which comes to mind is…interesting. Will this be a magic trick the fae use to help Sookie save herself or others? Will this doppelganger be involved with Eric – in some way, shape or form? Why do they need to have a doppelganger in the first place?
Lastly, does this have to do with Anna’s real life pregnancy? Either the scenes are too physically demanding for her, or there is no way to cover up her pregnancy.
So many questions…but lots of time to speculate!

i think it probably has to do more with her pregnancy but i guess we won’t really know for sure until later in the season

in because of Anna’s pregnancy? I was hoping that Anna’s pregnancy was going to be
written into the script/season??? would have been something and the only one who’s
child it could have been is Eric’s, as he was the last one to have sex with her.
I doubt that they would have written Anna’s pregnancy into the script, simply because vampires CAN’T have children, Marlene. So, it couldn’t possibly be Eric’s (if they did write it in). More than likely, it would be Alcide’s. BLECH
Unfortunately, Erika, this is AB’s world, and letting him run wild with fae magic or get hinky with the witch’s spell Eric was under in S4… There’s no telling what he could do. However, I agree that they aren’t likely going to pull a Twilight on us and have Sookie popping out a fanged baby.
Although, I do enjoy a few good fan fics where Eric becomes a father because the Viking is entertaining in that role, if written well… which AB would NOT do IMHO.
Still, I wouldn’t go so far as to be 100% sure what CAN or CANNOT happen on TB so long as certain people are involved in the show… It’s still “anything goes”. I mean, Bill did become King of Louisiana!
very true, Mel…so true! Based on what AB has written in the past and how he’s portrayed Eric on the show…I doubt it would happen. At least Eric wouldn’t be the father. *rollseyes* It would more than likely be Bill who did. PUKE
This probably has to do with her pregnancy.
The most logical thing is that this is pregnancy related. It’s a common illusion trick used in such cases in Hollywood. I don’t find this surprising at all. The final episode would likely have something outrageous and incredibly demanding that would be a bit too much for Anna in her state, so this is reasonable.
Yeah, I don’t know what to think about a doppleganger…… Even if Sookie was too far along now to do anything overtaxing. Thats’ what they have body double stunt people for. So I really don’t think its’ for that reason. I sure hope they aren’t going to do anything too strange here, like parallel universes ala Fringe or something stupid like that. I sure hope they don’t double jump the shark this season……….

I have to wonder if it may be Sookie as she can’t really live can she. She knows to much and can read minds so that makes her dangerous as well.
This is my theory about this…and I hope I’m wrong. Remember last season when Eric told Sookie that there is two Sookie Stackhouse…One that think as herself as human and the other one who is coming to grips of being fairy. Eric loves both Sookie’s but he loves fairy Sookie and likes her more than human Sookie. Bill in the other hand is in love with Sookie’s humanity..because reminds him when he was human. It can be the they are trying to have two of them…one for Eric and one for Bill? It sounds crazy but in AB crazy Sookie Stackhouse world nothing surprises me. Let me know what do you think?
Interesting! I wouldn’t put anything past AB if he did do something like this. And this would be a win/win situation too. But I doubt AB would do this, simply because I doubt he’s this creative. LOL
The Eric/Sookie lover in me wouldn’t want to see this either. I want Eric to have ALL of Sookie, not just a part of her. Ykwim? We’ll have to wait and see…
@Erika…After a wrote this I thought the same thing…I don’t think AB is that smart to think something like that…unless someone did this for him. But like you I want all Sookie for Eric…the human and the fairy. We’ll see.
No, I think this just has to do with her pregnancy. I don’t think there are actually going to be two Sookie’s, it doesn’t make sense. But then again, not much on this show does.
