We need something positive to think about when it comes to Eric Northman during this season of True Blood.
Clevver News interviewed Giles Matthey, who plays Claude in season 5. In this interview he shares what his storyline will be like this season, plus gives us Eric Northman fans something to cheer about!

Unfortunately, he didn’t say WHY we would be happy or share if it involves being back with Sookie or not. But he has given me hope that this season won’t be a complete failure. Now my speculations are running wild…

Eeeeeccccck!! OMG, did they cast the wrong guy in the part of Claude, this interview just confirms it for me. I think they needed someone more like in the books, this kid isn’t even close…….. I don’t know what the casting office was thinking when he got this part. I even feel that he’s much too young even for Jess to get involved with. As far as what he said about Eric, “that his fans will be pleased” didn’t say much of anything about anything that I could even read in between the lines.
Don’t forget this interview was shot before the shows’ premiere and they cast didn’t even see all of the eppys at that time. So I really don’t hold any creedence into what he said.

I’m not saying there is zero chance of a B/S reunion, but do not trust this, please.
Someone wrote the same thing on the SAME site last year, at the beginning of S4, before Eric and Sookie actually got together, so even around the same time.
Same thing said- B/S reunion after E/S were together.
So please don’t take this person’s words for it. Anyone can get behind a computer screen and type this stuff, and the fact that it happened at the same site last year and was complete crap is very suspicious.
I think Giles is kind of cute – but I don’t like stripper type guys anyway lol and book Claude is an evil ass! I hope he is genuine and means that Eric is going to have a strong season
I won’t get my hopes up either. I am just taking this with a grain of salt and see what happens.
I am not getting excited either because as an Eric fans we are always disappointed by true blood ….I hope at seasons end for once it will be different but I doubt it
I don’t really care what happens anymore as I do not intend to watch next season, I’m planning to just cancel my HBO altogether.

By ”Eric Northman fans will be happy” I think he meant that we’ll see him naked in action, since he mentioned he’s seen just the 1st episode…so, meh.
Yeah, and I was still far from happy.
Could have meant that, but the question was about the season as a whole, not just the 1st episode. He talked about the 1st ep. and the whole season.
He only saw the 1st one, but they probably would have been done with filing 10 episodes at this point, or close to it, and likely had the scripts for 11. If Eric and Claude’s s/ls entwine at all he could really know something.
Mentioning Eric specifically seems unnecessary just for naked Eric.
Also, there was a hint last season that Eric has connection to the fairies…Pam called Sookie “fairy princess” and Eric seemed VERY sure that Sookie was alive, unlike Bill.
We don’t know what happened in that year while Sookie was gone either.

Why you guys made big freakin’ of out everything? I think Giles tries to means Eric have some history w/ faeries like in the books. Remember Eric brought Sookie’s house when she gone last season? That’s must be a reason because for that.
There’ll might be hope Eric & Sookie he said that. Or Probably he’s referring to they’re going to ends up 2gether in season finale. Because they’re almost done to shooting it. I really hope so. Don’t give up hope yet.
