  1. Honestly, this episode sucked. The only thing I liked was Tara chopping Elijah’s head off, never thought I would say this, but she has my respect now. I’m more convinced than ever that Bill needs to die a horrible death, I’m so sick of him.

    • Really? I liked it a lot–especially cuz the focus was narrowed down to fewer characters…now that they’ve resolved the Hoyt, Jess, Jason triangle, I feel like they are continuing to clean house on all the sideplots that they started wrapping up last week. I was really moved by the Jessica/ Hoyt farewell. It made me tear up a bit that they were sitting in the same booth they first met in. I was surprised it got to me.

Also glad to see that it will be Russell who brings Sookie back into the vampire storyline. That works for me and truly sets up Eric to save her….RIGHT?

I think Nora is back on Team Eric. She can’t forgive Lilith for killing Daddy. Nora will help Eric escape. cool.

I am impressed they managed to make Bill more annoying than ever, truly an accompishment. I am SO PISSED they killed off Molly and that Le Douche did it. Just yuck! Looks like next week he drinks the whole bottle and goes off the deep end, probably killing Salome….I wish he’d get a case of Jason’s priapism and explode w/ it.

Made my flesh crawl how Steve tormented poor Emma!

Loved seeing LaLa back in true season 1 form–YES! And Tara and Pam are simply awesome together. How I’ve missed Ginger’s scream!

This Worlow thing, silly. Is this the set up for season 6? Not excited about that at all. Any good ideas on that?

    • what pissed me off the most is that Eric was barely in this episode, wtf? What are these writers thinking, he is one of the most popular characters on the show and he seems to get less and less scenes.

      • He started out this season with at least 13 minutes per episode, now it’s about 7 or 8. He’s never had nearly enough screen time for me.

      • Laura and Tammy, I have to agree w/ you there! I think he was only in it for 6 minutes, ridiculous. But maybe since they have wrapped up some other tedious stories, they will actually focus on him for last 2 eps…unless they introduce more new crap.

I’m excited to see the new writer who wrote Boots and Rally also wrote the upcoming Sunset. That had the best Eric moments so far and made me love Sookie, a bit, again. Fingers crossed.

        • He had a little over 8 minutes in this episode, people have been uploading all his scenes to YouTube. Funny, I never see anyone do that for Bill.

      • Laura Exactly my thoughts and that’s why everybody’s loving Tara now, cause the writers are giving her better stuff and other characters are getting good stuff while Eric gets less and less and even less air time, that’s what pisses me off the most, everybody’s saying oh I loved this I love that, and no one is saying oh I loved Eric, of course not, he was barely there people! and it’s THIS how they’re gonna end up making people(fans of the show in general, people that don’t invest in characters)liking him less and less except a bunch of hard core fans like myself I’d better stop watching now before I get hurt….

        • Eric will be back. The writers aren’t stupid. I would put money on that they have someone checking fan sites and blogs to see what appeals to the viewers. It’s Eric and Sookie, obviously, but they do have other characters that are interesting. Lafayette is one, Sam, Alcide & werewolf politics (werewolfs & vampires often go hand in hand). I really like the bonding that is taking place with Tara and Pam. I like that Tara isn’t such a victim of circumstance any more, as was Pam, and she is starting to take matters into her own hands. I hope to see more of that…and as I saw somewhere…looking forward to interactions between Eric and his “granddaughter”, as well. What’s gonna happen when Eric comes back to his throne? Will Pam be second in command again, and what will happen to Tara?

        • No, I don’t think they are trying to lessen his appeal. They always give him the best lines and stuff to play. Then he commands every episode he’s in, no matter how small a part, he is always the best part…like how he sobbed over Godric–sobbed! Unforgettable, unreplaceable!

I think it’s more likely they dangle his scenes over us like a prize–to whet our appetites to an insane degree! I feel like a hungry vamp smelling Sookie’s blood for the first time–must have, need more, I will beg for MORE ERIC.

They are teasing us and playing us, but never diminish the character or the actor. Think about how good they always end up making him look…and Bill, is all clay feet and bullsh#$—because of the writers! I don’t think they are pretending Bill is more than he is….they are clearly saying because Bill is willing to sell his soul, he ascends to power–that’s the only way and the only reason he does.

Eric is portrayed as just the opposite–yay!

I’m hopeful that since they’ve ended many subplots in last 2 eps, that there will be actual focus on just vamp story and sookie/jason w/ fairies. And since Sam/Luna have been brought into main story (gee, how innovative!), they have a place too!

So hopefully Eric emerges front and center for rest of season. I think it’s reasonable to believe it.

    • Tammy I have to agree with you 100%!

  2. Your right Tara rocked, her character has grated on my nerves for years now but in the last few episodes ive jumped back on her band wagon she seems more like the Tara in the beginning of the show. They ruined her character for awhile with the poor me routine I think she is finally coming into her own.

    • I”m going to have to eat my words from last season regarding Tara. She is becoming a character that I almost like. Plus, I like the Pam/Tara dynamic. If I can’t have Eric in the scene, I’ll settle for Pam/Tara. Just… kill bill and spare me the tedious nonsense of his entire existence… please.

  3. agree. i beginning to like tara again also…so glad arlene and terry were not there tonight hoping they take the kids and run…hoyt is gone. eric is faking thank god…russell is on the loose. bill is showing his true colors hoping jess and eric save sookie…like the fae storyline think that can go places…andy is a daddy… thought that the jess jason and hoyt storyline was good but way too drawn out…miss alcide but still eric is my favorite…pam eric alcide and sookie not enough screen time this season…lala was funny and sam was great….don’t know why the new sheriff wasn’t there long..another fill in or was the plant to get pam in trouble…

  4. And Eric and Nora’s despair was amazing to behold, the way he sobbed…Alex is so wonderful!

  5. I just about cried when Godric got killed AGAIN. Is that like the third time he’s died? And Eric sobbing? So sad *sigh* I still think Bill needs to die…and soon. But I guess that’s too much to hope for. Sucked that Molly had to die. I liked her. She had hootzpah!
Oh well, we’ll see what the last two episodes bring us, although it’s supposed to be a big cliffy and then the wait of nine months *sigh again*

  6. I loved Russell’s speech about how he is older than all of them, and he could kill them all. Can some one please tell me why that means some thing and the fact that Beehl is not even 200 years old and he’s a fricking king and everyone waits on baited breath for him to speak? God I wish he was the one to get staked!

  7. Seriously you’re so right! It is like everyone waits on baited breath for him to speak. Bill’s control of everything and him beeing behind everything and having that kind of dominion he showed in this episode, holding that “control” for the istake and executing molly, giving lilith-blood to nora and eric and than looking at them on cameras i mean wtf? how can a 170-something years old vampire be in charge of everything, he fuc*king took over the authority and all of the actions, russel who? i mean that is just plain stupid, AB is supposed to be a professional and not be blindsided by the love of one pathetic character to allow this kind of crap, it’s just ridiculous and makes no sence! “Jessica, come with MY gards” yeah beehl we forgot you are the king of not louisiana but the king of the authority, king of the world (AB’s) God this makes me hate him even more! And even i thought that wasn’t possible!

And was this Hoyt’s episode? The whole time i was watching his sobbing little story i couldn’t help but wonder am i supposed to care about this? I hope he’s gone for good.

And Eric? I can’t even go there! I sincerely hope he’s acting again cause i’d hate to see him made as stupid as beehl to believe in that lilith crap which would make no sence cause he would never go for the same crap as beehl, i don’t think writers are that rude to do that to eric fans *scratches her head thinking* actually do i?

i guess alex is well paid considering he’s paid $200,000 for 7-8 min of on-screen time. 8 minutes… that’s so ridiculous actually scandalous! That “i wanna do bad things with you or whatever song” at the beginning lasts longer

god i hate TB! Why couldn’t Eric be in some other show? :-)

  8. this season has not had enough of Sookie or Eric, it’s suppose to be about Sookie, every other season she was the main not so much this season. I hope Eric and her get screen time together, I am actually kinda hoping this whole Warlow thing is next seasons story line because that means we are back to having a lot of Sookie again. even tough Russel is going after Sookie I am not sure that Eric can save her because hes stuck in the authority, but I do hope that maybe Russel brings her back there, then we might have some good scenes of them both kicking some ass. also they need to get Eric back to Fangtasia.

    • Oh Kristin, don’t hold your breath waiting for more Eric and Sookie. I afraid you’d suffocate.

      • I know, at this point it’s hard to even think in the next season they will be together. I read that the season finale is going to be a bigger cliffhanger then last years, but really who knows, I think Sookie’s story will carry over to next season, but when Eric goes back to Fangtasia I am not sure what part hes going to play next season unless he’s involved with Sookie, it’s so hard to tell anymore since they don’t follow the books. *sigh*

      • this season reminds me of Book 5 of SVM. Completely, utterly forgettable. There are a few things that are kind of cute but had I not read the books and had I not seen the previous seasons with Eric and Sookie? I would not bother to continue watching. It’s not that I’m mad? I just don’t care.

  9. As I posted in an earlier post, I was disappointed that they didn’t even give us an hour last nite. I think it was just under the 50 min. mark. I wish they wouldn’t cut it short like that, but I guess the next scene must have cut over the hour…….I have mixed feelings on this eppy. I do truly think that all three of them (Eric, Nora and yes, even Bill) are faking it now after the Godric/Lilith thing. Yes, even Bill saw through the security monitor that Godric/Lilith wasn’t really really there and that Nora and Eric were talking to a Hallucination (sp?). That is what convinced even Nora that Lilith isn’t real, its’ the blood in the glass vial. I wonder who’s blood it is? I think its’ Salomae (?).

As all stated above, their were some tear inducing moments in this eppy. I needed the Kleenex next to me for Jessica glamoring Hoyt, Jason crying in the car with Sookie and Eric crying over the imagined death of Godric by LIlith. God, Alex can really act!!!!!!!!
Too bad they don’t give him more screen time…..

I really am enjoying Tara as a Vampire. I’m really glad they redeemed her character after they first 4 seasons, cause I hated her and her sniveling ways. I thought it was so cool how she and Ginger set up Elijah and then she took Erics’ longsword and like a Viking, she lopped his head off!!!!! Yea, I’m glad they didn’t keep him around too long cause I really hated him.

Even with all the action however, I felt like something was “missing” from the eppy, I felt let down by it somehow. I can’t put my finger on it, but if someone else felt like this, please let us know.

Only two more weeks and its’ over for the whole year…(Sob). Then we have to wait another 9 months to see what happens.

    • I agree with you in Bill and the monitor.I’m still going with hallucinogen in regular old Vampire blood
I’m not up my.Bible studies, but if Salome asked for John the Baptist head on a platter, she would be in the 2000 year range. That makes Russell much older (as he stated) and wiser. I think he sees through all this. And yes, I think Eric & Nora are now faking it. There were glances exchanged and looks that said something else between Eric and Russell. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

  10. If anybody has a youtube link for eric scenes pls let me know..I only saw the one with russel at the end :(

  11. Whew, this episode was packed and too short!
I teared up 3 times, when seeing Eric all broken like that, then the Hoyt thing, and then Jason crying… TB hasn’t made me tear up since last season when Eric was pouring his heart out to Sookie.
I have so much going on in my mind that for now I’ll just touch on the things popping up first.

What was the actual use of Mike Spencer trying to eat Sookie and getting staked right off?Just because there needed to be 30 new babyvamps or…? I guess so.
Eric, Nora Godric and Lilit (I hate her and her goddamn bush like crazy, I swear it looks right into my soul ) It was killing me to see Eric like that, and Godric dying- YET AGAIN. I hope Nora is on Eric’s side now, but I’m not quite sure :S

So M.Warlowe can’t be beehl cause the pact is over 200 years old, and beehl is younger than that… like we can forget that.
Jessica wont take the vampire bible bullshit, I just know it, but she can’t do much about the situation can she? She could possibly be the one helping Eric escape.
Maurella is so preggers, Andy is screwed. I liked him this eppie.

Tara was great this episode, and I squeeled so hard when she killed Elijah WITH ERIC’S GODDAMN VIKING SWORD! Are you kidding me?? Eric would be proud if his granddaughter lol xD She did his sword justice to protect his place and property. I actually think I like her again, and I can’t tell even whether or not I even liked her before lol!

When Russel was having his angry speech and then wizzed off to probably fetch Sookie- pay close attention to Eric and beehls facial expressions. The look on Eric’s face shows so much, he looks shocked, worried, scared and simply terrified that R is going after Sook. While beehls face is like ”uh oh, he’s going after Sookie”. Yeah, who cares more? It’s so obvious. Just LOOk at Eric omg, my poor heart.

    • Yup…Andy is screwed. But I think the whole point behind the Fae bar is that the Fae are nearly extinct. I believe they are trying to breed with humans again so they can rebuild their numbers. Genetically, 1/2 fae + 1/2 fae will eventually equal full fae, depending on the dominance of the gene (Not only am I a Vampire Fan, Viking Vampire admirer, but I’m a geek, too!)

  12. I still think Season 1 was the best season.

  13. 1) I think Nora & Eric both are on the same team and it’s not team Lillith…but they still gotta save their butt. The best ally in saving their butt’s is No. 2!

    2) Eric going down on knee to Russell? Did you guys catch the look on Russell’s face when Eric, who hates him to the core, looked him in the eye and said he forgives him? Russell’s face seemed to be saying “Something isn’t right, Eric would NEVER do this!” He’s a 3000 year old Vampire, he didn’t get that old cuz he’s gullible. (and since it seems the evil Russell is a well liked character, I hope they find a way to keep him around. Hate to see him get staked)

    3) I love the bond that is forming between Pam and Tara. We know that if the “Authority” sent that dude take over Fangtasia, Tara is in Deep, Deep shit for cutting off his head…but I don’t think he was sent. I suspect he took advantage of a situation. But Tara, cutting off his head….She did that for Pam. She wasn’t going to let Pam lose Fangtasia. I love the line from Tara, “Your going to let him take everything from you? Even me?” I liked Pam’s answer…the bar is just a bar, but her and Tara were going to be “in the wind” like her and Eric. I knew they would bond!

    3) Salome is an evil conniving bitch. I know that Bill is central to the show, so they can’t kill him off, but they are going to have to give him some redeeming value. I’m hoping that, since he couldn’t see Godric and Lillith on the monitor that he will realize it’s all hallucination. But now that he has dragged Jessica into it, maybe she will be his redeemer.

    4) I need to watch that again! I though it was a great episode, and I’m looking forward to the season finale. I’ve got three books read now, but I still like the show better. I think it depends on what you read/see first. I’m on pins and needles now, though!

    • I have the feeling that Eric knows that Russel is just playing along and doesn’t believe the Lilith crap (which is obvious), and Russel in return thinks the same of Eric. So when Eric got on his knees and stuff, Russel didn’t buy it (I think their problem is not solved nor forgiven but they kind of mutually agreed to let it rest FOR NOW. I’m pretty sure R will try to f*ck him up without hesitation when he sees a clear chance, and likewise).

  14. Have to agree with everyone’s comments. But I do wonder if the one reason for the “lack of Sookie” is Anna Paquin’s pregnancy. There is only so much hiding of a pregnant belly that can be done and maybe they are just being considerate of her physically for this season, which is understandable. However, that being said, there is simply no excuse whatsoever for so little Eric screen time!

    • Sookie has spent a lot of time in PJs this season. I read somewhere that they were making sure they would take it easy on her during filming. I still have faith that in the end, Eric will save the day…and drag Bill along with him. :/

  15. I just read that maybe Eric had little screen time in this episode because Alexander was doing promo tour for Battleship. Maybe so.

    • if so, than why did they cut out his scene? he could’ve had more screen time like that and TB wouldn’t be so short

  16. I wish they let it in there. But I think they didn’t so the fans didn’t feel sorrier for Eric (swaying even more fans to him?), AND so we didn’t hate Nora TOO much.

But if they had left it in there we’d have seen more Eric, it would have made more sense why he was so dazed later, and Nora’s turn from team Lilith back to team Godric would have been more meaningful (if she switched back, that is).

    • I think she’s back on team godric too. Watching her facial expressions when Eric talked to Russell later was illuminating. She and Eric are waiting for their moment to escape and/or defeat Salome now. This is probably why Eric will try to save Bill later, cuz he will think Bill’s been as duped and mind controlled as Nora. bleck.

  17. I don’t know if Nora is changed sides or not. I took the scene as everyone was wondering if Russell was going to kill Eric when he came in and started talking to Russell. If you look at Bill he also had that same look as if he didn’t know what Russell was going to do with Eric except Eric or kill him. I guess we will find out.
