Sookieverse scoops up DEA Synopsis!

Our friends over at Sookieverse have gotten their hot little hands on the synopsis for DEA. Here is just a little snippet of what is in store for Sookie in the final book. I think I am going to cry at the word final. If you don’t want to know, then don’t scroll!

Sookie finds it easy to turn down the request of former barmaid Arlene when she wants her job back at Merlotte’s. After all, Arlene tried to have Sookie killed. But her relationship with Eric Northman is not so clearcut. He and his vampires are keeping their distance…and a cold silence. And when Sookie learns the reason why, she is devastated.

Then a shocking murder rocks Bon Temps, and Sookie is arrested for the crime.

But the evidence against Sookie is weak, and she makes bail. Investigating the killing, she’ll learn that what passes for truth in Bon Temps is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough…

I am not worried as Sookie and Eric have been down this road before, Sookie has been down this road before and all turned out well. What do you think? Who will be murdered and how is Sookie blamed? My bet is on QOK being behind all this. As usual there is serious discussion going on over at Sookieverse, feel free to join in on the discussion at Sookieverse as well as giving your opinion here.

  1. Does someone have to be framed for murder every book? We got Eric last time, and now it’s Sookie. I think the Queen was responsible for both cases. Honestly, this summary doesn’t get me very excited. It makes me dread the final book even more, but I will wait to hear what others have to say first before I read it.

  2. Spolier!!

Well, there was a leak that Bill was going to die in this book by a. Ball. In fact, CH was quite upset about this. I just hope it will be Eric and her at the end, I hope it isn’t her walking away from it all. Which the shifters would be happy she got out of the vampire shit……

    • that rumor was about Bill dying in I believe Dead and Gone by the hand of Neave and Lochlan and CH was very upset about that but that was not for DEA, it was for DAG. I still believe it will be Eric and Sookie in the end

  3. Apparently this book has several POV’s, so we might finally get a glimpse into Eric’s head. That could either be very good, or very bad. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

  4. Ok this is the first time that I have dreaded the release of DEA because I dont want to see Sookie in more pain and especially away from Eric! and some of the ominous statements make me doubt whether Sookie will have a HEA, she deserves to be happy! I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. BTW i didnt think we would get the synopsis this far from the release date.

  5. From all I have seen from CH’s writings and my interpretation of Sookie’s character I just can’t see Sookie and Eric together in the end. There was a time when I really wanted that, but after all that has happened I will accept the fact that it will not be happening. All I ask is that Eric will still be standing in the end. I know he is a strong enough character that he will soldier on and make the best of things. What would devastate me would be if she ends up with Bill or Alcide.

    • It’s not a fact that S+E won’t have their happy ending. Sookie is in love with Eric and wants to be with him. That’s a fact.

  6. I would rather have her end up alone than be with Bill or Alcide! It’s just got to be her and Eric in the end. Could CH really disappoint all of us Eric and Sookie fans? God I hope not!

  7. To tell you the truth, I really don’t know what to think at the moment. I have to re-think the fact that Sookie and Eric may not be together in the end. After reading this synopsis, I really do have my doubts now. If it doesn’t happen for them to be together in the end, then all I hope for is that Sookie is happy and content in her life and goes on with no regrets and the same for Eric, I guess…………………….. Once again, I’ll just wait and see how it all pans out when the book is released.

  8. I won’t be happy if they don’t end up together, that’s all there is to it. Anything else will feel like such a waste.

  9. I haven’t read the rest of book series,I only read 4 & 5. I was planning to read them after I got done reading my book. But I’m thinking to skip book 11 & 12,go to book 13,because I heard bad stuff in them. Now I don’t known, because I’m worry Eric’s going to betray Sookie & luv thing’s big fat lie. :'(

  10. When I first read this, I thought it didn’t sound very good for us. BUT then I remembered that almost every synopsis that I can remember has been purposely vague and very misleading. I don’t think CH wants us to guess what’s going to happen from the synopsis alone. Please don’t lose faith and give the book a chance. Who knows? Maybe this sounds worse than it really is?

I think the murder victim could either be Arlene or Sam. Remember that there’s repercussions from its’ use? Sookie used it on him…it could mean that something really bad happens to Sam as a result. Just thought I’d put that out there as a possibility! :)

    • Oh, I really hope not. If anything, please let it be Arlene. I can’t stand her in the books. I don’t want Sam to die, especially not since she risked everything to save him.

  11. I can’t decide if I love or hate this tortorously vague synopsis. It reads to my imagination like the Queen is trying to set Sookie up, and since the vamps have decided to be “cold” and “distant” to Sookie (which is NEVER good) and are hiding something that “devastates” her, they’re letting the Queen get away with it. Maybe Eric really does choose the Queen over Sookie? That would kill me!

If anyone dies, I hope it’s either Arlene or Quinn. If Sookie ends up with anyone other than Eric, I’m going to be sooooooo sad.

    • I’m actually beginning to wonder if maybe the Queen and Felipe might be working together and hold Eric and his vampires captive…and that could be why they’re cold and distant. The Queen could be using the situation to her advantage too…don’t know, but it’s food for thought.

      • Felipe could be planning his revenge for Victor’s murder.

        • I can definitely see the Queen and Felipe working together with the Queen wanting Eric and Felipe wanting Sookie. I could also see Eric pulling together an invasion force to take out either one of them so that he could be King, and could therefore annul that contract himself since he’d then be his own King. But, yeah, I wouldn’t put ANYTHING past Q/F.

  12. I will be absolutely devastated, and completely let down if Sookie and Eric do not end up together! We have loved them throughout the ENTIRE series, and if she drops the ball with the last book it will be a complete slap in the face to the faithful fans! I think they have been through enough and deserve for it to work out. I think that Eric should decide to do what his amnesiac self said…. Give it all up for the love of Sookie. Walk away be happy, safe and in love!

    • I too will be devastated and completely let down if Sookie and Eric do not end up together Melissa. I refuse to think that CH could do that to all her fans. Especially after the shit that True Blood has turned into. She has to know how all the book fans feel about it.

  13. what? sookie arrested for murder? i bet the Queen of Oklahoma is behind this i pray that sookie gets her HEA with Eric those two deserve each other if this is not the case then i am going to be very upset

  14. i can only hope and pray that e&s finally get together and their marriage is no longer a lie but a true fact. they both deserve a happily ever after — with each other.

  15. Eric is distant and silent? Are you effing kidding?! We really have to not only sit through, but finish with, another book where it makes no sense NOT to star the sexy Viking?

I knew the final book would disappoint and this just confirms it. It became obvious several books ago that C.H. hates her characters now. Jeez.

    • I don’t like Eric being distant and silent either but I hoping it is only for the first part of the book. I found the last book really frustrating so I don’t want his part in DEA to be like that. Sometimes I really wonder if CH appreciates what a popular character she has created, but I’ll reserve my judgement until the very end, when I’ve read all the book, then I’m hoping I’ll be so thrilled by the ending that I will be so happy and won’t care.

  16. From your lips to Charlaine’s ears!

  17. Why is anyone surprised Eric is going to be distant? Sookie blew the one viable chance they had. She chose to save Sam instead of their relationship at the end of the last book. I’d be pissed, wouldn’t you? The woman who claims to love you just used her hearts desire wish to save some other guy instead of to keep you at her side. She did not think whatever the cost would be was worth it to save their relationship. All of the main characters have been through hell in their lives, Sookie has no monopoly on drama & pain. I say f Sookie she doesn’t deserve Eric.

    • I completely disagree, Eric was in the wrong in this case. He’s being immature and childish, wanting her to solve his problem when he needs to find his own way out of it. What was Sookie supposed to do, let her best friend die? If you know her at all, you know she could never have done that. I think she made the right choice, he’s just going to have to deal. If he really loved her, he would find a way out of that marriage himself instead of expecting her to magic it away.

  18. [...] good friends over at the Sookieverseblog shared the unofficial synopsis for “Dead Ever After”! But WAIT! That’s not all…just today we shared the [...]

  19. When all the books are out I will read them all again from beginning to end.
