We wanted to let you know that we’ve also added a page to our menu tab at the top of the site where we’ll have it handy for easy future reference. (Look for Season 6: Episode Titles, Casting Calls and Summaries in the menu.)

There are a few new updates which you may or may not have seen before.

WARNING: If you don’t want to know – don’t read below!

Here’s the latest News From The Casting Couch!

Season Six

Start Date: January 2013

Location: Los Angeles

[BEN] Mid 20s to mid 30s. Ultra charming, ultra handsome. Needs to feel like the kind of guy women and men are completely drawn to, but also needs to possess a low-key quality, a southern gentility, that Sookie would find familiar and comfortable. His dark side, however, is dark, dark, dark…SERIES REGULAR. ONE-YEAR DEAL.

[MACKLYN] CAST (RUTGER HAUER) A mysterious figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. Sinister, at first blush…

[GOVERNOR OF TEXAS] Exactly what you’d expect. Rick Perry. Handsome, a little slick, a politician. He is a warmonger…VERY, VERY STRONG RECURRING

[GOVERNOR OF TEXAS’ DAUGHTER] Strong woman, 20s, pretty. She first appears fearful but, we could come to find out she is quite tough. …VERY, VERY STRONG RECURRING

Start Date: Approx. Mid January 2013

[NICOLE JANNSEN] Bi-Racial (African American / Caucasian) Mid 20s.   A true bleeding heart. She’s not at all concerned with money, she’s concerned with the common good and doing what’s right. Probably went to Bryn Mawr and drives an old Saab. Life hasn’t beaten her down yet.  She and her band of well-meaning liberal advocates model themselves after the civil rights activist “Freedom Riders” of the Sixties. A do-gooder to the core, Nicole’s naive optimism is charming but ultimately vaguely idiotic and dangerous…SERIES REGULAR

[CREIGHTON BURRELL] Governor of Louisiana (Late 40s-60s) A classic good ol’ boy politician. Governor Burrell has despised vampires since his wife ran off with one, leaving him as a single father to their only daughter, Ali. Governor Burrell is a politically savvy and perhaps overly ambitious fella who tends to let his personal aspirations overshadow his humanity…SERIES REGULAR.

TRUE BLOOD, Episode #601, “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”

Writer: Raelle Tucker

Director: Stephen Moyer

[AUTHORITY GUARD #1] This armed and fanged Authority guard vamps into the AHO Control Room and sees something he can’t believe…CO-STAR

[OFFICER HARTZELL, OFFICER RUSCIO] MALE, 30S – 40S. These two gruff looking Caddo Parish sheriff deputies politely come to Sam’s house…CO-STAR SUBMIT ALL ETHNICITIES

These are the “official” casting calls sent out from the production company – thanks to Bookies ♥ True Blood on Facebook!

As you can see, Stephen Moyer (Bill) will be directing the first episode of the season. Before you get excited that it might mean less Bill (or Billith) time onscreen…it doesn’t mean anything. He will probably still have more than enough screentime for us.

Please note: There is an ethnic change to Nicole Jannsen.

Not sure if the Governor of Texas is the same as Governor of Louisiana…but they both have a daughter mentioned in casting.

What are your thoughts? Please share ’em below!

  1. I’m liking the fact that Stephen Moyer’s getting another chance to direct!!!
Episode 6 in Season 5 was such a good one, that I’m looking foward to another
    wonderful episode from Mr. Moyer!!!

    • He didn’t direct ep6, he directed ep 8 “Someone I Used to known”. That’s most freakin’ boring w/ a flashback & Mark Hudis wrote that ep.

I hope this season premire’s better than ep 8,because Raelle Tucker wrote the premire. I like her work & I think her writing’s way better than Mark’s. I think she should be showrunner than Mark.

  2. ugh i can tell season 6 is going to be worse then season 5 at least less billth

  3. Thanks for the updates, I also want to thank you for adding a link at the top, so in case we miss an update on casting, etc. we will be able to find it easily!!! I, too, was happy to hear about Steve directing the first eppy, he seems to do a great job and I’m sure he’ll do Season 6 eppy 1 justice also. Just wishing that the plotline to the new season goes the way we want it to……..

    • I hope so too! :)

And you’re welcome! It drove me practically crazy last season trying to find all the casting calls in the archives. LOL

  4. […] to EricandSookieLovers.com for the heads up. News update on new characters for season […]

    • Yall need a real “Southern Bell” to play the Governor of Texas’ Daughter! I cannot stand FAKE southern accents! :)

  5. I think this will be last ep for him & The writers decides to let direct it. Because Anna just had babies & he had two kids. He let Anna go back to work & he decided spent the kids. I’m not giving up hope on Eric & Sookie.

  6. I think that they should have the governor of louisianas daughter go off with Eric northman now that he and Sookie are not seeing each other. This would be a blow for him.I think it is good that Stephen Moyer is directing an episode and I love the title.Cant wait for it.Would love to play one of the daughters could be fun.x

    • I highly doubt it. I think Ali will be a little girl (as same age as Emma). It says Mother left them for a vamp & left Criegh as single father.

  8. Whoever said true blood season six starts in January is a moron. It doesn’t start till the summer just like always. Idiot.

    • True Blood begins FILMING in January. So it’s NOT stupid, actually. You do realize that it takes awhile to film the season before it airs, don’t you? They usually end filming in June, right before the season begins on HBO. Now who’s the idiot?
