The end is near! No not the actual world… but our journey with Sookie Stackhouse and Eric Northman will be coming to an end this coming May with the release of the final novel of the series by Charlaine Harris.
I know, it is 2 words we are dreading… “The End”.
And our journey takes another step closer to this moment with the posting of the “Dead Ever After” end paper on Charlaine’s website.
And boy, am I squeeing over it loudly. Lets take a look at it
So… what do you think? Are you as excited as I am that we see both Eric and Sookie as a part of the drawing. Along with those other suitors in their animal form.
What type of theories and/or conclusions can you draw from this drawing?
My immediate take away is that Eric and Sookie are both part of the circle walking around the moon. And almost inline with each other. Like 2 halves.

well the end is near as they face the final curtain but they did it their way
I love this! I see Eric and the rest of her would-be-not-so-much suitors in animal form. Looks like Sookie will be trading in the sun for the moon and the stars! Before everyone gets their knickers in a twist I don’t mean she will be a vampire, I mean staying with Eric. This speaks volumes to me.

Well B, I must say you are quite the optimist. Unfortunately, when I saw this, I felt a feeling of forboding, I mean yes, Eric is in the picture, but so are the other rejected suitors of Sookies. I really don’t see them being in animal form mean anything special, they also were in animal form on the cover of the book too.
After seeing this, I’m sorry to say, I don’t think Eric and Sookie will have a HEA and I think CH is going to end it with Sookie (now all mature and stuff…LOL) feeling good about herself and confident that she can live her life without the supes. So sorry, but thats’ my take on it.
Of course we won’t know until we read the final book, I just wish I didn’t have to wait until May to read it as the suspense is killing me here!!!! I really, really, really want Sookie and Eric together in the end.
Oh Red ye of little faith. You are right they were all depicted on the cover as well but not Eric. I still see no point in CH building this relationship up just to tear it all down at the end. It would be book suicide.

I hope so, too, but the art is always a huge tease. I thought it was a bad sign that Eric was so far away from her, but you never know what will happen.
oh not a problem. I know she wanted everyone’s take I just wanted to help sort out your feelings and get you in a better mood! I am not at all worried about the outcome of DEA. If I am wrong I will eat all my words.
I keep wondering why Eric is the only one depicted in human form, while the rest are in animal form…what I think it might mean is; CH wrote part of DEA from Eric’s POV, as we know she mentioned that she had to do. What do you guys think?

nymerias I agree with you 100%. It would be really stupid for CH to spend 12 books worth of building a relationship between Eric and Sookie to throw it all away. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for their happily ever after!
It would be just a waste of all the time and energy she put into it, it really is her choice and decision at the end of the day but it really would be book suicide. Can you tell I have read one too many books? lol
Here’s how I see it…the fact that the only vampire on there IS Eric, gives me lots of hope! Plus, it looks like Eric and Sookie are almost parallel to each other, as if they’re equals.

I think this’s really bad. I afraid Sookie didn’t ends up w/ Eric.
Bill’s not even there, I don’t think he will have anything to do with her in the final book. That ship has sailed.
Well that means good thing(I hope so it’s good thing). I wish Eric becomes human at the end at the book to have children w/ Sookie. Probably he makes deal w/ Niall to become human. I really really really hope so.
He would hate being human, I don’t think CH would go there. Just like Sookie won’t become a vampire, if they want to be together, they’ll have to find another way to make it work.
CH has stated 2 things numerous times… 1) Sookie will NOT become a vampire. 2) Eric and Sookie WILL survive the series.
I agree Tammy…it would be career suicide if it’s anyone other than Eric, because that’s who the whole series has been about from a romantic POV.

I feel this picture is saying she will be still in everyones life and they will just go on forever in a circle the circle is not broken and a circle is always going so she will be there for them all but she will have her own life. Sad but true. I don’t know how she could end but with Eric when she won’t become a vampire. Eric won’t want to see her get old and die because it will hurt him too much.
She doesn’t need to be a vampire to end up with him, Sookie will likely have a longer life than regular humans anyway. It may not be forever, but I’d rather enjoy whatever time I had with the person I loved than be miserable with someone I didn’t.
Makes me really nervous as to what CH is going to pull in the end.
And, crap, it doesn’t come out until May. Sigh
