Thanks to the Spoiler Fairy and Spoiler TV…here is the latest True Blood casting call!

A sexy, dangerous vampire named Violet will be part of a love triangle in seasons 6 & 7. (Looks like she’ll be the 3rd side of the love triangle involving Jason and the other new vampire, Wes; unless of course there’s gonna be more than one triangle, or the triangle turns into a square or something.)

Wait a minute…I thought Ausiello cleared it up that Jason and Wes were going to be involved with Jessica? Who is this Violet person? You mean, Ausiello was wrong…or maybe it’s a quandrangle instead? I’m sooooo confused!

As if True Blood needs any more characters added to the show…

  1. The character list on this show’s gonna need Diurex it’s getting so blated.

  2. Stop casting new, mundane characters and start giving more air time to the original cast. I tune in to see Sookie and Eric predominantly, with Pam, Jason, Sam, Alcide and even Bill as subplot characters. But they are so rarly shown anymore, the show has slowly become polluted with ridiculous plots and characters, losing the great back water louisianna feel that makes it so compelling. Perhaps if they allowed the cast they already have play a more active role we wouldn’t have to endure any more characters like Lillith. I really hope season 6 concentrates much more on Eric and Sookie before the integrity of Charlaine Harris’s stories are lost completely. <3

  3. Not more characters – it is only 10 episodes for Liliths sake!!

  4. yep, Ausiello said Wes was the third wheel in the Jason/Jess romance. Nothing sounds intrigruing , maybe it’s my mood.

  5. Well, here we go once again!!!!! Ye Gads, when will all this casting crap end???? I’m with you guys as always. Too many new cast members and too little time for our principles to have much screen time. When will it ever end?? I’m feeling even more fearful than I was just a few days ago regarding all these triangles going on. I’m afraid that Eric and Sookie will never have a chance to get back together at all this season and who really knows if they’ll even get back together during the (shall I even dare say, even if there is another season) seventh season.

With all the changes made to management, I just hope that this doesn’t turn into a bigger travisty than it already is!!!!! I’m trying to keep the faith, I mean they’d had numerous show runners even on TWD and that has done OK with it, but again, that show at least keeps to the storyline of its’ creator and thats’ more than I can say for TB.

  6. Just to let you guys know… We’ve set up a “special” thread in our Rant Room in response to adding too many characters on the show. ;) If you would like to vent even more…feel free to join in! :D

  7. Just as long as it’s not a love interest for Eric, I don’t care what happens.

  8. How in God’s name do the writers of this show think, even for a second, that all this bullshit that they come up with is making for a good show? They have to be delusional! The Sookie Stackhouse novels are great stories! There would be enough in them to keep the series going for a long, long time. But you all know this, I’m sorry I got carried away for a minute there. I say shame on Charlaine Harris for selling out!

  9. I am really not happy about all this . It is all to painful to bear . I just have a feeling Eric & Sookie will not be together . This show is a big disappoint after another no promos , changes in showrunner . etc . Eric might be with Nora again from what i seen on the web she is still working with Eric on something w/ Pam & Tara. She is boring not exciting enough to me . Don’t know where this is going now ? Too many castmembers being cast that means less & less time for Eric and wonder is Sookie with him at all.

    • Eric and Sookie are probably going to be doing their own thing in season 6, but they’ll most likely be brought together again in the end. That seems to be how this show works now, just because Nora is still around doesn’t mean Eric is going to continue being with her. The only reason he was before is because he was hurt and she was the only one he had to turn to in the Authority, that’s not the case anymore. I just hope Sookie doesn’t mourn Bill throughout the whole season or I will really gouge my eyes out.

  10. To be honest nothing surprizes me with True Blood anymore, since the start of season Four we were confronted by an unfamiliar Eric character, who refused to help or save Sookie when she was being attacked by Debbie Pelt. Not to mention he also tried to prevent Bill from helping Sookie too. I don’t recognise that Eric, he’s certainly not the Eric Northman Charlaine Harris created, who would’ve undoubtedly layed down his life to save Sookie. After that I lost faith in Alan Ball and his interpretation of the characters within. Alan Ball’s attempts to re-create Charlaine Harris’s world has failed miserably, he has done the unthinkable and tried to better Harris’s version of Bon temps, which already had the perfect mix of excitement, love interest, mystery, suspense and fear. Given Alan Ball’s over confidence and his ability to play fast and loose with the plot-lines and character arcs he’s effectively created a world most of us Eric and Sookie fans no longer recognise, A world where Eric and Sookie will probably never be together, which is bitterly disappointing. My (long winded) point being; book Eric would never feel Sookie’s fear and do nothing about it, he’d never fail her; he would save her, no matter what it cost him (Fae war being a perfect example.) True Blood the show is losing everything that makes the books so exceptional, simply because Alan Ball seems to believe he can create a better world with superior characters than Charlaine Harris, but as the comparisons are drawn between Book world and TV world I think its fair to say that he most certainly can not.

    • The start of season 5, not 4, but I really can’t blame Eric for his reaction. She just basically rejected him without ever giving him a real chance, and now he’s supposed to come to her rescue? He could feel that she probably wasn’t hurt, so there was no point to get involved. Besides, he had other problems to deal with at the time. The show will never be the books, I’ve pretty much accepted that.

  11. Sorry I meant season 5, Yeah I do get that, but equally I don’t think it was true to his character to just ignore her like that! Yes I agree, but find it somewhat irriatating that the Characters aren’t even remaining true to the origins of the character traits! but hey I’m just having a rant really. :-)

  12. Sorry I meant *wasn’t true to his character*. :-O

    • I don’t think it’s true to the book character, but the show has a mind of its own. I hated a lot of season 5, it honestly didn’t get good until the very end. I’m just waiting for them to find a way to ruin that in season 6.

  13. [...] SPOILER ALERT! True Blood sent out a casting call for another character who will be involved in a ____ ________ in seasons 6 & 7! If you’d like to fill in the blanks…find out what it is here! [...]
