Charlaine Talks DEA with Entertainment Weekly!

sookie ever after EW

Lets take a walk down memory lane as Entertainment Weekly premieres the book trailer for Dead Ever After, narrated by the Maker herself Charlaine Harris! The video takes us on a quick fairy tale like journey of the life of Sookie Stackhouse… ending with the all important question “Now, will Sookie finally get her ever after?”

Check it out here 0r on the video player below.

Le sigh.

As if the video was not enough of a treat, those lucky folks were able to share some words with the Maker on DEA, her plans… and a certain Viking Vampire

Here is just a snip of the interview here

I feel like Eric is especially a source of controversy. I have a friend who told me to ask you, and I quote: “Why did you decide to create a character that everyone fell in love with and then rip him from are our nimble little page-turning fingers?”
When I created Eric, I felt I’d created a complete person, with both a very attractive side and an unattractive one. Of course, no one’s perfect, human or vampire or Were! There’s no perfect “happily ever after.” But I get a lot of indignant feedback from a small but vocal group of readers whenever the narrative requires that one of Eric’s less lovely characteristics play into the story.

What do you hope people get out of Dead Ever After?
In the end, I hope people won’t be disappointed in what I’ve given them because, gosh, I worked so hard on it. I went over it so many times trying to make sure I was doing it right.

About B

Really, there is never enough Eric... I'm loyal to the Viking, no matter what. I will love him whether in Book, Show, and just because... my first thoughts are of him and I close my eyes to dream of him. As far as I'm concerned, the night can not get here soon enough.

  1. Thanks for giving us this info. B, I really enjoyed the little video from CH. It almost gives me hope for the end of the book series. I read the complete interview too and I still am hopeful that Sookie will get the very best HEA that she can. (Just hoping that its’ with Eric – Keeping my fingers and toes crossed).

  2. Well, some people are going to be disappointed, I just hope it’s not us since we’re the majority of the fanbase. The video was really cute, though.

  3. I confess I got a little teary listening to her and reading the interview realizing that it is less than 2 months until the end of the series. I saw a little ray of hope when she said there will be people who will be super happy! She has to know there are more of us that ship Sookie/Eric than any other ending. I can appreciate everything she said though about them being her creation so whatever happens…this is what she had in mind from book 2…so she says. Fingers crossed ladies!

  4. The video trailer is super-cute but I can’t help laughing at Eric’s thin little arm and hand, compared with Alex’x great big viking hands!

  5. I loved the video and it makes me long for the book, NOW! :P It also made me feel a bit melancholy that the end of the series is so near. (:

  6. […] We start this issue with an interview with the Maker herself, Charlaine Harris! As well as a special trailer for “Dead Ever After”! […]
