In the last couple of hours the very first photos of Rutger Hauer on the True Blood Season 6 set have surfaced. Please don’t look below if you don’t want to know what he looks like:
Rutger Hauer is of course playing the mysterious Macklyn……..or was that Warlow………no, it’s most probably Sookie’s fairy relative Niall.
Anyway here is what he is going to look like, as he films a scene with his possible human descendant Jason Stackhouse.
Ok – I dig the suit but the hair is interesting!

I don’t know about that…the outfit and hair is how I always pictured Niall in the books to be. LOL
yeah, it’s not far off for me. I knew when RH was cast we weren’t going to get the younger David Bowie clone that Charlaine Harris once described Niall as. I love the suit and the pipe and the crazy hair
He’s never going to be book Niall, none of the characters on the show are 100% their book counterparts. This Niall seems to have a lot more time for Jason already. And Mr Stackhouse has a very large gun with him there!
I can’t wait to see RH in the show – he looks completely crazy and that helps in Bon Temps, if you’re not crazy when you arrive you are either crazy or dead when you leave!

If Rutger Hauer IS Niall…maybe someone will finally teach Sookie the extent of her powers and how to use them properly? Because so far all her fairy friends haven’t been as helpful as you might hope.
Unfortunately, this is NOT how I envisioned Niall to look like. Of course this is TB and NOT the SVM novels. To me, he looks like the older version of what the Wizard of OZ would look like to me……LOL
Regardless, if he is playing Niall I know its’ a long-shot, but I hope that he is the one to help Sookie get her fairy powers and more importantly her head and her heart straightened out and he plays an instrumental part in getting her and Eric back together.
At least, that is my wish.

If this is indeed Niall, then it is almost how I pictured him from the books, especially the hair, the clothes I almost pictured him wearing robes….lol! I have to confess I also pictured David Bowie for some reason and I know I am not alone in that thought. I am digging his hair!!

I see his hair in a pulled back sleek ponytail held by a black velvet ribbon.

I always thought of Niall as David Bowie for TB so that vision of mine from above might have gotten mixed up from both mediums, which is a first for me. I did kind of picture Sir Ian for Book Niall.

Probably Ben`s Niall`s human form,because Faeries have two different forms. Look at Claude played by 2 different actors.
Maybe they’re going to the Dr.Who route (old man to younger man to old man again). He reminds me of 1st Dr. Who.
I love Rutger Hauer and I’m thrilled that he’s going to be on TB in ANY capacity. It’s not too much of a stretch for me because I’ve always pictured Niall as looking like Gandalff from LOTR (even though that’s not at all how CH described him in the books.) I have to laugh at the pics above, though. In the second one I think he (the face) looks an awful lot like Bill Murray, and in the last one he looks like an old woman…lol!
You know…now that you mentioned Gandalff…I think that is a perfect description of Niall too. Lol
Sir Ian Mckellan played Gandalf, that is why I mentioned him above. LOL
this season is gonna be interesting. I will also say that the man above in the suit and the mysterious hair reminds me so much of Doctor Who…lol that’d be awesome. Tardis meets Stackhouse LMAO. had to it just does lol.
Nobody told me Phil Spector is on the show .. This is so funny i can’t stop laughing . You can’t tell me he doesn’t look like him with his hair like that . Can’t wait to see this show now for sure ?
If it is Niall, let’s just hope that it is Eric that introduces Sookie to him. Just like in the books! At least that way they will be in a scene together. Lol!
It seems I’m the only one that expects him to grab a top hat and sit down to tea with a rabbit. What the heck have they done to the beautiful fae?! lol
Its Albert Einstein as a Fae prince! I kinda like it, but them my expectations for TB S6 are zero so the only place to go is up
I always pictured Niall looking exactly like Jason Isaacs’ portrayal of Lucius Malfoy. I almost wonder if they went with the crazy hair to differentiate Niall from that character’s image.
Actually Jason Isaacs would have been my pic for Niall. I love Rutger though, so hopefully TB won’t ruin that character. I live in hope
