Battle of the Episodes: The Championship Round

Eric and Sookie Lovers… you asked for it.

We have taken 64 episodes of True Blood through the gauntlet till we are down to 2. Not just any 2 episodes…. THE 2.

For there are fewer episodes talked about than “I Wish I was the Moon” (Shreveport Bracket) and “I Will Rise Up” (Bon Temps).

This is going to  be an extremely tough choice for all of us… for both are extremely worthy to be crowned champion of our tournament.

And only one can win…

Are you up for the challenge? And where will we end up? Shreveport or Bon Temps? Your votes are the key, so vote :)

This poll will remain open through January 2nd.

About B

Really, there is never enough Eric... I'm loyal to the Viking, no matter what. I will love him whether in Book, Show, and just because... my first thoughts are of him and I close my eyes to dream of him. As far as I'm concerned, the night can not get here soon enough.

  1. I just knew it would be between these two, but I had to go with I Will Rise Up. It’s still my all time favorite episode, and the one that first made me discover my love for Eric.

  2. I love both episodes …..I picked I wish I was the moon because it was a beautiful episode showing what this show could’ve and should’ve been ….but eric and Sookie making love under the moon over the the dream sequence with eric and Sookie and the godrick rooftop scene ….great great episodes ….this is what I was remember when this show is over not the stupid ass love of Bill Compton from the writers that has ruined the show.

  3. Gotta agree with esw45. The show could’ve and should’ve been.

  4. I agree with the others. I too, voted for I wish I was the Moon for the same reason. Shoulda, woulda, coulda ……..

    • The episode would have been better if we didn’t have to look at Bill’s stupid pitiful face during their love scene, I’m so tired of him ruining all of their moments.

      • I also hated the fake “feel sorry for Bill” shot right in the middle of Eric’s and Sookie’s first lovemaking. It was obnoxious and obviously meant to bait the audience. I just fast-forwarded through it to watch Eric and Sookie over and over (and over…who’s counting?). Doesn’t matter anymore: Seal Sex Sam is endgame, with a “friendship” with Bill. Harris taught Buckner how…ah well. Don’t mean to be cynical; just being honest. :) IWRU or IWIWTM for the win here-it’s all good to me.

  5. Again, thank you B and ESL for the poll.

I Will Rise Up and I Wish I Was the Moon were the eps I voted for in the previous round, so I’m grateful that it came down to those two. IWRU will always be my all-time favorite episode of True Blood (Brian Buckner as showrunner will never come anywhere near it artistically and emotionally), so I had to vote for it over IWIWTM because of that. However, I will have no problem whatsoever if IWIWTM takes the win. I agree with esw45 and luvvamps-IWIWTM is a beautiful episode that displayed everything True Blood could have and should have been. I know I have “said” it a million times, but I’ll “say” it again: Alexander Skarsgard and Anna Paquin had some of the best on-screen chemistry I have ever seen in my life, with a formerly compelling story, and it’s a shame that it was thrown away to focus on abusers like Bill, Alcide, and Warlow, and boring misogynists like Sam. I’ll never like it, but I accept it. Obviously, I have no control over it.

Thank you, B and ESL for all of your work, including this poll. I had fun voting and commenting, but you guys put the actual work into it. I hope everyone here (staff and fellow posters) has a great New Year’s Eve/Day and/or a great Winter. :)

    • I forgot to mention (again :) ) that IWRU was written by Nancy Oliver, who left after year 4, and IWIWTM was written by Raelle Tucker, who left during the Mark Hudis firing in the middle of episode 4 of year 6. Two talented writers, who happen to be women, who happen to no longer be on the show. It’s too bad, but it’s just a TV show that didn’t come anywhere near close to realizing its full potential. It is what it is. I celebrate what was, I mourn what could have been, and I move on. Again, B and ESL, thank you for this poll. Happy Holidays/Winter everyone. :)
