Fangirling at it’s best

I am totally fan-girling right now! I am so pumped up right now. Why, you ask? Because the ultimate of hockey showdowns is happening today, that is why!

At least three of us here at ESL (Erika, B and I) are major hockey fans and depending on the outcome today, we could all be winners. Erika and I are major Detroit Red Wing fans and a lot of Team Sweden plays for that particular NHL team and they beat Finland 2-1 and now are awaiting the outcome of the USA/CAN game, which will begin shortly!

Let’s break this down, we know Sweden is playing for Gold. It will either be Team USA or Team Canada that they play in that pivotal game come Sunday. Bottom line is someone is going to be playing for the bronze and I imagine, neither team is liking that scenario but such is the nature of the game. So for us here at ESL (or maybe just me) it could be a win/win/win with all teams taking home a medal or one leaves with nothing! In that case, it will be a win/win, depending on if you are Canadian or American!

THIS IS US RIGHT NOW!

I am hoping for a win/win/win (with the USA winning either Gold or Silver, with Erika the opposite)

I bet Alex was totally a fan boy watching Sweden play today. I will play fan girl to his fan boy any day!

Good Luck to all teams in their pursuit of excellence!

About Nymerias

I am an avid book reader and when I am not writing for these two blogs that is what I am doing. I love Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods and many other shows. I am very much looking forward to the Outlander series that will soon be on Starz! I also enjoy classic books and legal thrillers.

  1. Right with there with you girls. Watching the match and biting the remaining nails I have left after yesterday’s women’s game (US VS Canada). I will be torn a bit (not much really) because my brother and his family live in Alberta. So they are big time hockey fans and have been rooting on Facebook for the big matches. I have remained quiet until I see the outcome of the game today. Either way, the winners are the fans no matter the team because these games (mens and womens) have been outstanding. No one needs to hang their heads low. Both sides have played their hearts out.

  2. I have to be honest: I don’t “speak” sports, so I am totally clueless here. :) I just wanted to say a quick “hello” and to wish Nymerias, Erika, and B and all the fans and the teams the best with the game. And “hello” to/wishing the best for Evie too. And good wishes out into the universe for Alex too. Take care.

  3. Hi Good Luck to all of you sports minded people. I hope that everyone wins. I am not a winter sports type of Olympic watcher, I’m more into the Summer Games. But like those before me posted, I just wanted to wish all of you the Best of Luck.

  4. Go Team USA! I’m from just north of Detroit and the Red Wings always seem to have a lot of Sweds on the team. lol!
