Person with the most accumulated points at the end of the contest wins this mug below!

In the event of a tie, there will be a ‘Sudden Death’ Playoff where participants will be asked questions in turn, if someone cannot answer their question correctly, then it may be thrown over to the remaining participant(s) to answer. First person to answer a question correctly after all participants have been asked a question will be the winner.

Questions will be asked from both the HBO True Blood Show and the Charlaine Harris, Southern Vampire Mystery book series (Sookie Stackhouse Novels).

Since January 2011 the Fangreaders (http://fangreaders.blogspot.com/) have been chatting about and sharing their favourite SVM/TB fanfiction stories. What started with a few enthusiasts has grown into a community of over 200 fanfic readers and writers, stretching over several time-zones – and we just keep getting bigger and bigger! New members are signing up every week to take part in our online discussions in the Fangreaders chat room, the Fangreaders Chatroom Central blog site, Fang_Readers Community on LiveJournal, and the Caffe Trieste forum.

You may have heard of a previous Fangreader organised event – The Lemon Tart Awards. This event celebrated the sassy and sexy side of fanfiction. But this time we want to go all the way – Oscars Style! In celebration of 12 wonderful months of meeting new people and making new friends – the community is bringing you ‘The Fangreader Awards’. On January the 8th, Fangreaders submitted their nominations for their most loved fanfics in ten different categories. Comedy, Romance, All Human, Angst, One-shots, series and more will be included in this event to celebrate excellence in writing and honour those who have captivated us with their plots, amused us with their banter and made our hearts flutter with excitement when they provide us with an update.

Although the Fangreaders nominated the stories for these awards –

voting is open to the entire SVM/TB fandom.

That’s right – you don’t need to be a Fangreader for your voice to be heard!

The public vote opened on Sunday 15th January 2012 and the ballot will close on 19th February 2012 11.59pm GMT. That leaves you plenty of time to catch up and read any of the stories nominated that you might have missed. Remember – you can only vote ONCE – and the goal of the Fangies is to award excellence in writing and not just be another popularity contest.

Do you have a funny bone in your body? Do you write Eric & Sookie fanfics? Have you read or are reading funny Eric and Sookie Christmas/Hanukkah themed fanfics? If any of these apply to you – we have great news to share with you!

Our good friends over at the Giggle/Snort Files would like us to pass along this message to you! They would love to see many Christmas themed Eric and Sookie fanfictions as we can send – that tickle our funny bone!

This is what they need:

For the first time on Giggle/Snort Files, this year we will be having our own ’12 Days of Christmas’.

We are really excited about this and think it could be great. Basically, every single day of the 12 we will be posting a festive funny. That could be a link to a story, picture, poem or whatever else tickles us under the mistletoe.

Eric & Pam Donate Items to Greenpeace

As the bloodsucking Viking vampire Eric Northman and his loyal protege Pam De Beaufort – Alexander Skarsgard and Kristin Bauer have us captured around their fingers…or should we say fangs? The delightfully badass duo have had quite the season battling Marnie’s wicked witch spells, love triangles, and the American Vampire League. Now, the actors who have brought Fangtasia’s vicious vamps to life are giving fans a chance to own a permanent piece of the True Blood saga.

Charitybuzz is auctioning two autographed True Blood scripts used by Skarsgard and Bauer to the highest bidder to raise funds for Greenpeace.

The first script was owned, used and autographed by Alexander Skarsgard during the filming of the show. This script actually has his notes in the margins, so fans can really get to know the man behind the vampire!

The second script was both owned and used by the Kristin Bauer and is autographed by Kristin and cast members like; Alexander Skarsgard, Joe Manganiello, Sam Trammell, Deborah Ann Woll, Jim Parrack, Carrie Preston, Brit Morgan, Todd Lowe, Marshall Allman, Dale Raoul, Fiona Shaw and Rutina Wesley.

I’m Getting Out of Here

Greetings Eric and Sookie Lovers!

Just wanted to let you know I’ll be away for a few days on vacation! However, I brought my laptop and my iPhone, so it all depends on if I’ll have cell phone service and/or Internet where I’m going! If I don’t…please don’t be surprised if there’s no blog posts or anything! It’s not from lack of news or anything. If I could, I WOULD share it with you!

And just maybe I’m not all that excited about seeing Sookie fantasizing about Bill? Hehe, no, that it isn’t it, honestly! LOL! The truth is, I WILL be away and I have nobody to fill in for me while I’m gone. (Note to self: get more staff! )

Until I get back…hope you enjoy the True Blood episode 9; “Let’s Get Out of Here”! Hope Sookie’s fantasy isn’t as bad as the spoilers make it seem! Feel free to discuss things in the forum and already published posts!

Announcing….The Eric & Sookie Music Video Challenge

What’s this HUGE announcement we were hinting about late Friday night?

We’re pleased to inform you…we’re going to be hosting a music video challenge!

We tell you the rules and Eric & Sookie lovers (who are interested), submit a video they create to us!

Visitors of our site will vote to determine which music video they want to win!

The winning video will be featured in a prominent area on our site! Plus, many accolades by us!

Sounds like fun? We certainly hope so!

Let us tell you about the first challenge…

This first challenge came to us after watching episode 6, “I Wish I Were The Moon”… How many fell in love with that song by Neko Case? It’s a really beautiful song!

This got us thinking…what could Eric & Sookie lovers come up with that contained this song AND showed clips of Eric & Sookie from Season 4? We know there’s some music videos already up on You Tube which feature this, but we thought we’d make it EXTRA challenging! Not only this…but your video MUST contain at least one kissing scene and one making love scene! All previously uploaded videos to this song, can be submitted…but you MUST mention that it is submitted as an entry in the Eric & Sookie Music Video Challenge at our site (ericandsookielovers.com)!

Here are the rules for this first challenge:

Must contain Eric and Sookie scenes from Season 4
Must contain at least one kissing scene and one making love scene
Must be to the song, “I Wish I Was The Moon” by Neko Case

We have a very special announcement to tell you!

We’re very pleased and proud to tell you about this new feature we will have here at Eric & Sookie Lovers! We’re pleased to present…

What is this? We’ll explain…

Are you sick and tired of fast-forwarding through True Blood until you get to the Eric & Sookie scenes? Would you like to be able to take these wherever you go with you? For instance; on your iPod, iPhone or iPad?

Well, now you CAN!

We have converted our Eric & Sookie scenes into compatible formats on which these devices will play!

This is NOT an App – which you would have to download and constantly have to update. They don’t crash when you really need them (I’m looking at you, HBO GO). BLAH! Who needs that? Instead, these clips are added through your iTunes on your computer and you add them in the same way as you would add photos, movies, music or anything else you add from your computer! They will stay there for as long as you want them to be and best of all…you don’t have to download everything, just to get the scene(s) you want! We’ve made it very simple…all you have to do is add, sync and you’re done! (We have instructions in better detail in the forum.)

There is one rule though, which is the same for the regular downloads…you MUST be a member of our forum with 20 posts or more!

We’re excited to bring this new feature to you and hope you really enjoy it!
