A few days ago we brought you the great photo of Alexander Skarsgard on Wall Street that had been taken by True Blood fan Michelle, bushfirefairy on twitter. Michelle’s trip to New York to meet Alex was part of her “bucket list”, and now she has returned home safely she has shared some more photos and given an account of her trip on her charity blog.

Alex and Taylor Kitsch promote “Battleship”

Whilst the Hasbro International Toy Fair might not be the first place you would look if you were searching for an early valentine treat, yesterday in New York you might just have got lucky.

Actors Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard along with director Peter Berg of the upcoming Universal Pictures’ ‘Battleship’ movie, react to the movie’s game and toy line while visiting Hasbro’s American International Toy Fair showroom in New York, February 13, 2012.

Of course the most important question the Battleship toy collection raises is – will there be an Alex toy and will we be allowed to play with it?

Here at Eric and Sookie headquarters we had our fingers and toes crossed for her since she let us know of her mission. Anna & Alex – movie news

Screen Daily are today reporting that Anna Paquin is set to star in “Black Wings Has My Angel”, along side Tom Hiddleston and Elijah Wood. Filming is due to begin in September.

The story is about an escaped convict and high-class call girl whose lives are changed by an armored car heist.

No word yet of any projects Alex will be working on after True Blood Season 5 wraps in the summer but there is now a poster for his movie Disconnect.

And don’t forget to watch out for Alex ringing the NASDAQ Opening Bell in New York on Monday (around 9.15 ET) as part of the promotion for Battleship.

One of the many, many, many things we love about our favorite viking is his magical ability to enter and exit a scene in the most dramatic and sexy way. Picture the scene in All together dead – Sookie is stood holding what she at first believed was just an innocent can of Dr Pepper, she is unable to put it down for fear of blowing up the entire building, the bomb squad are on their way and everyone’s least favorite were-tiger Quinn is chastising our girl for trying to be a martyr for the vampires.

“Ha,” I said. “Oh, ha-ha. Yeah, ’cause they love me. You see how many vampires are up here? Zero, right?”

“One,” said Eric, stepping out of the stairwell.

“We’re bound a bit too tightly to suit me Sookie”. He was visibly tense; I couldn’t remember ever seeing Eric so notably anxious. “I’m here to die right along with you, it seems”.

Poor old Quinn, like all the rest of the wannabes, against the viking he never really stood a chance.

Stephen Moyer gives Sookie teaser for Season 5

True Blood actor Stephen Moyer has been busy helping promote Season 4 in his native UK, and according to the UK Press Association, he even offered a little tease for Season 5.

The actor hinted that season five will offer more changes for Bill and Sookie.

“There is something that happens at the beginning of the season which changes their relationship again” he teased.

Could this be concerning Tara? Or maybe just that as Bill and Eric may be on the run away from Bon Temps, Sookie will be moving on? Perhaps Sookie becomes immune to Bill’s poisoned blood? Maybe Bill is going to emigrate to Peru finally and they will just become long distance pen-pals?

Seriously, why can't he just take the hint and leave?

We are in a positive mood today so hopefully it means Sookie and Bill’s relationship is going to move further away from how it has been in previous seasons. Team Eric and Sookie must never give up hope!

Anna wins London Film Critics Award

Our lovely Anna Paquin was triumphant last night, jointly winning the Best Actress prize at the London Film Critics Circle Awards, for her performance in MARGARET. She shared her award with Meryl Streep, and let’s face it that ain’t bad company to keep for any actress!

Melancholia Named Best Picture by National Film Critics

We have great news!

Lars von Trier’s Melancholia had its first big win in critics’ awards leading up to the Oscars, when it was named Best Picture of the Year by the National Society of Film Critics on Saturday.

The film’s Kirsten Dunst was named best actress for her performance in the film.

Until this win, the critics have largely ignored Melancholia, whose rave reviews have been overshadowed by von Trier’s antics at Cannes.

Dunst has largely been overlooked in the best actress race until now.

The society is made up of 58 of the country’s most prominent movie critics. It held its 46th annual awards voting meeting at Sardi’s Restaurant in New York City.

Melancholia Named Movieline’s Best Film of the Year

Each year Movieline lists the years best films and this year critic Alison Willmore chose Melancholia for the number one spot. The Lars Von Trier film features Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarsgard, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Kiefer Sutherland. It tells the story of a planet, named Melancholia that threatens life on earth. Dunst stars as a new bride that can’t seem to escape the clutches of depression.

This is what they said;

“Melancholia is already a devastating look at an illness that leaves you unable to connect to what life has to offer, even on an extravagant wedding day that seems to compress half a lifetime into a night.”

Melancholia Wins At European Film Awards

Great news! Alex’s movie, Melancholia has won an award at the European Film Awards! In the movie, he plays Michael, the husband of Justine (Kristin Dunst) and deals with the end of the world.

We want to congratulate Alex and the rest of the cast and crew of Melancholia on this award!

Photos: Anna’s “Free Ride”

Anna Paquin and Cam Gigandet are in Miami, Florida filming their new movie, “Free Ride”!

Celebuzz shared some photos of the two of them while shooting! This is what they said;

Anna donned a ’70s-esque orange tube top and jeans, while Cam showed off his muscles in a white tank top as they filmed some scenes on a boat.

In the film, Anna plays a single mom who flees to Miami with her two daughters to escape an abusive past. Cam plays her love interest. Jealousy among audience members ensues.

Free Ride isn’t the only thing these two have in common, vampires is the other. Anna stars in the hit HBO series True Blood where she can’t help but fall for blood suckers, while Cam played vampire villain James in the first Twilight.

Anna Gets A “Free Ride”

According to cfnews13.com…Anna Paquin is reportedly going to be shooting a new film called, “Free Ride”, and will be shooting on closed sets later this month in Sarasota.

It stars Anna Paquin and Drea de Matteo. It’s based on the real-life story of writer/director Shana Sosin who left an abusive relationship and turned to selling marijuana to support her two daughters.

Paquin won the Academy Award in 1994 for Best Supporting Actress for “The Piano.” In 2009, she won a Golden Globe for playing Sookie Stackhouse on the HBO television drama “True Blood.” De Matteo, won an Emmy Award in 2004 for playing Adriana La Cerva on “The Sopranos”.

Confirmed: Alexander Skarsgard will be in “The East”

They have finally come to an agreement and the movie that was once rumored to be filming in Nashville, is not. Location has been changed and he’ll definitely fit it in before filming of True Blood season 5 begins!

This is what the movie will be about;

Fox Searchlight is back in business with “Juno” star Ellen Page, who’s in final talks to join Brit Marling and Alexander Skarsgard in Zal Batmanglij’s thriller “The East.”Ridley and Tony Scott’s Scott Free Prods. banner is producing the pic, which was written by Marling and Batmanglij.

Story concerns a private contracting firm tasked with protecting big corporations from radical environmentalists and anti-business extremists, with its agents tasked with infiltrating a mysterious anarchist org known only as the East.

Brit Marling

Marling stars as the undercover agent, who finds herself falling for the leader of the East (Skarsgard). Page will play Izzy, a member of the East who used to be Skarsgard’s lover and is now jealous of the attention he pays Marling’s character.

Alex Films “Disconnect” In NYC

Alex has been busy filming “Disconnect” in Yonkers, NY. this past week! In the film, he plays a cheating spouse. The film is centered on a group of people searching for human connections in today’s wired world.

Directed by Henry Alex Rubin, the movie is set for a 2012 release while co-starring Jason Bateman, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist and Frank Grillo.

Alexander Appears At TIFF

Alexander Skarsgard appeared last night at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his movie, Melancholia – which costars his father, Stellan, Kirsten Dunst, Kiefer Sutherland, and directed by Lars Von Trier.

We were lucky to have someone on the ‘inside’ to share with us some pics and even took some footage on her video camera!

This is what she filmed inside the Ryerson Theatre! Warning: it may be hard to hear it at times, but you really get the sense that Alex was the crowd favorite!
