True Blood is featured in this week’s (May 31st – June 7th) double issue of Entertainment Weekly in their article on “Your Summer Must List”! There is even a review of Alex’s movie, The East in this issue as well!  Our B was kind enough to share the scans – but was unable to post – so I’m doing it instead.

This article features each one of the main new characters we’ll be watching this season!  This may seem spoilerish to some.

Let’s start with Ben. I’m not crazy about hearing he’ll be naked most of the season because we know Sookie will be involved with him.

It’s interesting that we still don’t know what Nicole really is – except a vampire activist. Will she have special powers after all?

Contrary to some speculations I’ve seen…it looks like Willa (the Governor’s daughter) will be nothing more than a human, instead of being a vampire. How long will that last? We’ll have to wait and see. We do know she will have some scenes with Eric…

Not surprising to us – Govenor Burrell is going to be this season’s BIG BAD. It’s funny that even Buckner is afraid of him. LOL

Niall, our favorite fairy prince. While it looks like his wild hair is only temporary, we’re sure he’ll probably drag Sookie and Jason into his crazy hair-brained plans – whatever those might be – something to do with Warlow more than likely.

While this was but a small taste of what the newbie’s will bring to the show, the countdown is on till June 16th with Sookie and Eric and the rest of the crew from Bon Temps.

Lastly, we have EW’s review of “The East”! It’s really great to see they give the movie a B+! I know many of us are looking forward to seeing it!

Alexander Skarsgård was interviewed by Grub Street, where he talked about “The East” (in which freeganism is practiced), “True Blood” and what he loves to cook!

What is freeganism? (You might want to wait to read this on an empty stomach, because this will probably make you sick.) Freeganism is: avoiding waste by reclaiming and eating discarded food. (Ewww…)

No offense meant towards anyone – if any of you are freegans. I just don’t understand…what about bacteria and diseases which are spread through unsterilized surfaces?

Buy Nothing Day, an international protest against consumerism, inspired Alexander Skarsgård’s new film, The East. In the thriller, some of the characters practice freeganism: avoiding waste by reclaiming and eating discarded food. Off-camera, Skarsgård’s actually quite fond of freshly cooked food, and he became the chef of the cast (which includes Brit Marling and Ellen Page). At Monday’s screening of the film at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema, Skarsgård shared his go-to recipes, thoughts on waste, and why his True Blood character, Eric, no longer just sees humans as food.

Brit [Marling] says that you’re actually a fabulous cook.
I enjoy it. What’s my thang? It’s different to cook for these guys, because they’re all vegans. I like to cook stews like beef bourguignon and coq au vin. I made them a lot of pasta and veggies. Zal [Batmanglij] and Brit had a house in Shreveport [Louisiana], and we would go and hang out there on weekends. We would hang out and cook and drink wine and dance and occasionally get some work done.

One of the interesting ideas the film brings up is how much food is wasted in this country. Do you have a rule for how long food is on the floor before you don’t eat it?
I come from a very big, large family with tons of kids, so I’m pretty used to eating off the floor. With seven siblings, you grab whatever you can. We throw away so much good food in this country, and we don’t even think about how much we waste. We’ve created a society where we consume so much — not just food, but everything. And I’m not judging. I’m part of that system. It’s good to be aware of it.

I’m hoping Eric gets something to do with the whole Warlow conspiracy on True Blood.
We’re shooting the last two episodes, and he might get involved in that. We’ll see. I’ve had a great time this year. It’s a big war going on. Humans are fighting back. They’ve figured out a way to actually be a real threat to vampires. They’ve always just been food to Eric. So, for the first time, he’s got to fight.

There you have it…Alex is handsome. He can act, cook and he doesn’t mind eating off the floor!

What’s this about a possible Warlow conspiracy Eric might get involved in? I think my ears suddenly perked up after hearing that. This is GOOD NEWS for us, Eric & Sookie Lovers…this might mean we’ll get more Eric and Sookie interaction than we first thought! YAY! I’ll try not to get my hopes up too high…but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll enjoy it.

Alex shared some True Blood scoop and what is going to happen with Eric Northman this season.

Eric’s going even darker this season — premiering June 16 on HBO — and Alexander tells HollywoodLife.com to expect some ‘nasty stuff.’

With humans closing in on them, the vampires of Bon Temps will resort to desperate measures on the upcoming sixth season of HBO’s True Blood – and it sounds like some of them may even be crossing over to the dark side! “[Eric's] doing some evil stuff this year, some stuff that’s not so nice,” Alexander Skarsgard told HollywoodLife.com on May 20 at Piaget’s screening of Fox Searchlight’s The East in NYC.

“I like them both,” he told us about ‘good’ Eric and ‘evil’ Eric. “It’s fun to go back and forth, you get to play around with both sides. It’s always more interesting than one extreme or the other … when you have both within, and it’s an internal struggle.”

Nordic & ‘Nasty’

We’ve seen Eric commit some pretty seedy acts — remember when he killed Talbot while having sex with him? — and Alexander promised there’s plenty more where that came from. Though he admitted that Eric’s temporary season-four amnesia “affected him in a way,” he said Eric’s still going to be up to his old tricks.

“You’ll see this season he’s doing some pretty nasty stuff,” he told us. “It’s not all good.”

Of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way! We’re not worried…we LOVE it when Eric is a BAMF! It’s one of the reasons why we love his character so much. He’s over 1000 years old, and he has had to do some really bad things in order to survive. In a war against humans – who will do whatever it takes to win…we’re not surprised by the fact Eric and the rest of the vampires are willing to do the same. Maybe the humans hurt someone Eric loves or cares about and he goes after them for revenge? It’s interesting that this article mentioned Talbot’s death…it’s the perfect example of Eric doing a bad thing for a very good reason. We know Eric will go to great lengths to get his revenge on behalf of those he cares about.

But what kind of bad things is Alex talking about exactly? Only time will only tell…but my guess is it has to do with the kidnappings and experiments the humans are doing on the vampires.

True Blood has released the episode title for 6.08 and are looking for some more characters. We also have some updates in previous casting calls you should know, unless you always check our True Blood Season 6 Episode Guide.

First, we’ll share with you this meaty episode title from episode 6.08 – thanks to SpoilerTV;

True Blood episode 6.08 is called “Dead Meat” and 2 co-star roles are being cast: a guard and a bottling plant foreman.

In a roundup of casting news…they have cast the role of the “crazed vampire” who will be shown in episode 9.

VICTOR OF AQUITAINE will play the role of “Crazed Vampire”
in episode 6.09.  He’s a classically trained musician, he first began acting at a young age. He’s best-known for his work in “Fame”, “Get Rich or Die Trying”, “Oysters & Pearls” and will appear in an upcoming movie with Lindsay Lohan titled, “The Canyons”.

In more casting news…Brianne Davis tweeted she is playing a role on True Blood.

She also shared this picture of True Blood Episode 6.09′s script – showing which episode she will appear in.

Brianne will play Belinda, “a flirtatious trouble-making new waitress at Merlotte’s”, according to her reps.

Of course, neither of these characters will probably have anything to do with our favorite couple, but it’s interesting that True Blood keeps adding characters when the show already has enough, IMO.

As for the episode title…”DEAD MEAT” – well I could think of MANY characters I hope end up this way.   I can’t imagine any song title which would fit this title though, unless they aren’t basing the title off a song which is featured in this episode…?

Later that night, Alex and his castmates from The East (Brit Marling, Ellen Page, Patricia Clarkson, Zal Batmanglij ~ Director) turned up in style to the premiere (5/20) at the Sunshine Landmark Theater and a second screening at the Nitehawk Theater (5/21) in New York City.

I have a feeling most of us share this feeling…

Crave Online shared their list of TV’s Guilty Pleasures and True Blood was mentioned.

This is what they said;

“True Blood” is a wonderfully crazy show unlike any other. It’s got a huge, devoted fan base, so you don’t really have to feel guilty about loving it unless you’re trying to describe it to the one person who’s unfamiliar with the show… then it makes you sound like a schizophrenic hobo. I mean, when one plotline is best described as “When the awesomely effeminate psychic chef goes into the kitchen, he sees a slave ghost lady stealing a baby that belongs to an old redheaded lady and her PTSD-suffering husband. And the telepathic fairy waitress has to choose between two different vampires and a werewolf as potential dating partners,” you know you’re watching a crazy show. Whoever you describe it to will probably want to throw you in the nuthouse, but as long as they let you watch “True Blood,” it’d be okay.

As the seasons progress, weirder and weirder awesomeness unfolds. Now it’s to the point now where you can’t possibly take the show seriously, which only adds to the amaze-balls factor. No matter what a person thinks about the show, they can’t argue about its entertainment value. Stuff happens that can only and has only happened on “True Blood.”

Speaking for myself…I do think it’s gotten crazier and crazier as the seasons have gone by. I would even call “True Blood” laughable. I wouldn’t say some things can only and has only happened on “True Blood” (cough) smoke monster like on “Lost” (cough). You can’t argue with the Eric Northman eye-candy we get to drool over each week either.

But…maybe it’s because we were so disappointed by how the book series ended and all the other disappointments we’ve already suffered at the hands of the writers on the show…I have to say that I’m guilty of still trying to keep my hopes alive where Eric and Sookie are concerned. I don’t understand it either, but what’s the point of watching, unless you can find some kind of reason to watch it? The craziness, nakedness and violence only provides entertainment for so long before even those become unwatchable. That’s why I think being invested in the characters gives it that added umph!

It is that time of the week again where we submerge ourselves in all things Sookie and Eric.

Today’s video is a tribute to Eric and Sookie from season 4 and while we know that the end of Season 4 turned out to be a HOT MESS, Eric and Sookie did have some beautiful moments! Enjoy!

Hollywood.TV was at the LA Times screening of “What Maisie Knew” and shared this exclusive interview with Alex!

In the interview, Alex talked about Onata, and “What Maisie Knew” – along with his directors.  He also talks about “True Blood” – including the infamous “Eric will die rumor”.

There was a Q and A held after the screening where Alexander Skarsgard, Onata Aprile, and directors Scott McGehee and David Siegel were all in attendance and answered questions.
